00:00I think for me, I can't remember the exact year, but probably about 1976, we were in a walking group
00:07where we actually met in Barnet in Hertfordshire and everyone decided to do the conga down the
00:14local high street and just to be a part of a huge lot of people conga-ing down the high street was
00:21a big memory for me. New Year's Eve can be quite spectacular and one year I went up to Edinburgh
00:29just to taste what Hogmanay is really like and I've never been in a place where so many people
00:40were absolutely intoxicated. I mean I've had a few myself but I wasn't quite as bad as some of
00:48these people. We always had New Year's Eve at my mum and dad's house and people would stay over,
00:53usually people would stay in my bed and I'd just sleep on the sofa or the floor or something and
00:58they used to always annoy me as a kid and now it's just sort of quiet, just stay indoors trying
01:03to help my dog with the fireworks. I think it was like five years ago, I was with like my family
01:09because I've got some family from outside the UK so they all came together and we were just having
01:13a lot of good time. I think we spent time like, obviously there was food that was prepared,
01:18we also like had times like just reflection, speaking together so I think that one, I always
01:23remember about that one because it was like, it's probably the biggest New Year's that I've had if
01:27you get what I mean. We went to a friend's party who also lives in Headingley and the snow started
01:35and that was memorable and just the light, that was truly memorable and you didn't even feel
01:41that cold. We did go a number of years ago to Austria again for the New Year and my wife here
01:51ended up on the drum kit drumming and she's never ever drummed before or since.
