Ana Navarro Responds to Trump Diss Live on the Air
Transcript
00:00She's getting a seat on Trump's plane, Anna.
00:02Right.
00:03His wife isn't on the plane, his daughter isn't on the plane, but this kook is on the
00:08plane.
00:09And I think it should be incredibly concerning that potentially the next president of the
00:13United States is surrounded by racist conspiracy theorists.
00:17Listen, when Marjorie Taylor Greene is all of a sudden the voice of reason, we've got
00:22to like, you know, call it a wake up moment.
00:26And I do think we need to pay attention to it because I'd like to know what role she's
00:30going to have in a future Trump administration.
00:32I'd like to know what kind of access she would have to the future, possibly president of
00:37the United States.
00:38In the tangled, messy web of American politics, Donald Trump's presidency and ongoing influence
00:44have created deep divisions, both between and within political parties.
00:49As the nation confronts the possibility of his return to power, dissenting voices from
00:53conservative circles have grown louder.
00:56Among them, Anna Navarro stands out for her sharp wit, unwavering principles, and fierce
01:01criticism of Trump and his allies.
01:04Navarro's journey in American politics is rooted in her immigrant experience.
01:09Born in Nicaragua, she came to the United States as a child, facing the challenges of
01:14adapting to a new country and language.
01:17This experience shaped her worldview, instilling a deep appreciation for American opportunities
01:23and a determination to defend the country's values.
01:26Her immigrant background is not merely biographical, it's a crucial element that informs her political
01:32perspective and drives her advocacy for immigrant rights.
01:36Navarro often shares her experiences as a young immigrant, bringing a personal dimension
01:41to the often abstract debates surrounding immigration policy.
01:44I came when I was in third grade.
01:47It was, it was, it was so painful not to be able to speak the language and understand
01:52the classes.
01:53Even though in Miami, Miami at that time, there were so many refugees from Latin America
01:57coming in that there were 32 girls who were in English as a second language classes with
02:04me.
02:05So I think there were like four who spoke English.
02:09But it was very, very hard.
02:10And yes, I know a lot of people think I still don't speak English.
02:13Well, well, this is what you're getting.
02:16It was, it was terrifying.
02:19You know what I would do?
02:20I would like I was so embarrassed when I would be given pop quizzes and have no idea
02:25of how to answer anything because I didn't understand the language.
02:28I didn't understand the questions.
02:29How could I answer?
02:30I would write in somebody's name, like a different name, like, you know, like, like a made up
02:35name, like, you know, Heidi, you know, on the on the quiz, because I was so mortified.
02:41This personal history has given Navarro a unique perspective on the American experience,
02:47one that combines a deep love for her adopted country with a critical eye towards its shortcomings.
02:53As she rose through the ranks of Republican politics, Navarro established herself as a
02:58principled conservative, advocating for traditional Republican values, while also pushing for
03:03a more inclusive and diverse party.
03:05However, as Trump's influence grew within the Republican Party, Navarro found herself
03:10increasingly at odds with the direction her party was taking.
03:14Her criticisms of Trump became more frequent and pointed, especially when it came to his
03:19rhetoric about immigrants and minorities.
03:22One particular incident that sparked Navarro's ire was Trump's attack on a federal judge
03:27of Mexican heritage.
03:28Navarro's response was both passionate and personal.
03:32It is offensive from a legal perspective.
03:34It is highly offensive as a Hispanic.
03:37What he is doing is wagging the dog.
03:39He is trying to distract from the fact that he has got a problem with a case where there
03:44are allegations that his business is a scam and a fraud.
03:48How dare he?
03:49How dare he question a judge's responsibility, a judge's adherence to the Constitution because
03:56he is of Mexican descent?
03:57This man was born in East Chicago.
03:59He is an American citizen.
04:01He is just as American as Donald Trump.
04:04Mexican-Americans bleed just as any other American when they go to war.
04:08They bled just as any other American at 9-1-1.
04:12They fight for America.
04:13They are Americans, and what he is doing is disgusting.
04:16I'm livid about it, and if this is his strategy to win over Hispanics, he's got a hell of
04:22a wake-up call coming to him come November.
04:24This impassioned response exemplifies Navarro's approach to political commentary.
04:30She doesn't just disagree with Trump's policies or rhetoric.
04:33She sees them as a fundamental threat to the values of inclusivity and equality that
04:38she believes are at the heart of the American experience.
04:42Her criticism is not just political, it's deeply personal, rooted in her own experiences
04:48as an immigrant and a Hispanic woman in America.
04:51Navarro's outspoken criticism of Trump and his allies has made her a target for attacks
04:56from within her own party.
04:58However, rather than backing down, she has embraced these attacks as validation of her
05:03principles.
05:04Her resilience in the face of criticism has become a defining characteristic of her public
05:09persona.
05:10Oh please, listen, every time anybody last named Trump tweets against me or attacks me,
05:15which has happened many times, including when Donald Trump was president, I take it as a
05:19badge of honor.
05:20So if you want to attack me on social media, please keep doing it because I'm going to
05:25get them all printed and I want them to be read in my eulogy, in my obituary, I want
05:33it to say, and the Trump family attacked her X amount of times because I am very proud
05:39of it.
05:40I think they're all pretty bad people.
05:42This defiant attitude in the face of high profile criticism has endeared Navarro to
05:47many who see her as a voice of reason within a party that they believe has lost its way.
05:53Her willingness to stand up to Trump and his supporters, even at the cost of her standing
05:58within the Republican party, has made her a respected figure across the political spectrum.
06:04As the political landscape in America has become increasingly polarized, Navarro has
06:09positioned herself as a voice of reason, calling for a return to principled conservatism and
06:15a rejection of extremism.
06:17Her criticisms are not limited to Trump himself, but extend to those who enable or support
06:22his more controversial actions and statements.
06:25She has been particularly vocal about the need for the Democratic party to present a
06:30united front against what she sees as the threat posed by a potential second Trump presidency.
06:35From where I stand, as somebody who does not want to see Donald Trump elected under any
06:41circumstance, I would just like Democrats to figure it out and figure it out quickly.
06:47If it's Biden, fine.
06:49If it's Harris, fine.
06:51If it's Clint Eastwood's empty chair, fine.
06:54If it's any empty chair, fine.
06:57But let's just focus on what it is and what we've got to do to make sure that Donald Trump
07:03does not get re-elected.
07:05In the last week, we've seen what's happened to people around Donald Trump.
07:09Rudy Giuliani disbarred.
07:11Steve Bannon went to jail, went to prison.
07:13Nobody talking about that.
07:15Nobody talking about how Donald Trump has pretty much gotten immunity from the Supreme
07:21Court now, and this is the guy who's calling for retribution and vengeance and wants to
07:27be a dictator for one day.
07:29Navarro's concerns about Trump's potential return to power are not just about policy
07:34disagreements.
07:35She sees his rhetoric and actions as fundamentally at odds with Democratic norms and the rule
07:41of law.
07:42Her colleagues' warnings about the potential consequences of a second Trump term are stark
07:47and uncompromising.
08:12If he can't do it, he needs to step aside and let somebody do it who can.
08:15But we are on the precipice of not being able to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our
08:19democracy in two years, effectively because we are about to elect somebody who is a threat
08:25to that democracy.
08:26This stark assessment of the stakes in the upcoming election underscores the gravity
08:31with which Navarro views the current political moment.
08:35For her, the choice is not just between two candidates or two parties, but between democracy
08:40and authoritarianism.
08:42Despite her fierce criticism of Trump and her concerns about the direction of the Republican
08:47Party, Navarro remains proud of her conservative principles and her Hispanic heritage.
08:53She has been a vocal advocate for greater representation of Hispanic Americans in politics
08:58and public life.
08:59Her excitement about attending a White House event celebrating Hispanic heritage reflects
09:04this pride.
09:05It was wonderful.
09:06It was such a happy occasion.
09:09The social secretary of the White House right now is Carlos Elizondo.
09:13Carlos is a Mexican-American man from the border area of Texas.
09:22All Hispanic celebrations are so on point.
09:25The margaritas are so good at the White House, I can't even tell you.
09:29But they're all beautiful.
09:30It rained that night, so they brought it inside.
09:32It's usually in the Rose Garden.
09:35And it was, honestly, it was the Hispanic community saying thank you to Joe Biden.
09:42Because he really, you know, one of the things he committed to when he was running for president
09:48was to have a representative administration.
09:50He said he would have an administration that looked like America.
09:54And he has delivered.
09:56Navarro's appreciation for diversity in government reflects her belief that the Republican Party
10:02must embrace inclusivity to remain relevant in a changing America.
10:07Her journey from immigrant child to influential commentator embodies both the promise and
10:12challenges of the American dream.
10:15As a Hispanic woman in a field often dominated by White men, she has faced numerous obstacles
10:21but persevered, advocating for more inclusive politics.
10:25Her criticism of Trump and his allies has come at a personal cost, facing backlash and
10:30online harassment.
10:32Yet she remains undaunted, speaking out against what she sees as the erosion of democratic
10:38norms.
10:39As the 2024 election approaches, Navarro's voice has become increasingly urgent, calling
10:45for unity among Trump's opponents.
10:47Despite recent challenges, Navarro remains committed to her principles and vision of
10:52America.
10:53Her story demonstrates the power of individual voices to shape national conversations.
10:58As we look to the future, voices like Navarro's will continue to play a crucial role in challenging
11:04extremism and defending democratic institutions.
11:08Navarro's journey embodies the ongoing struggle to realize America's highest ideals.
11:13Her story reminds us that democracy requires constant vigilance and active participation.
11:19As the nation faces 21st century challenges, voices like Navarro's will be crucial in
11:25shaping debates and pushing for solutions that uphold American values while addressing
11:30the needs of a diverse population.
11:32In the end, Ana Navarro's story reflects America's ongoing struggle to create a more
11:37perfect union.
11:38Her advocacy and commitment to democratic values serve as a beacon of hope and a call
11:43to action for all who believe in the promise of America.
