00:00Welcome back to TMZ Live.
00:02Before the year ends, we have a miracle.
00:06We have a celebrity beef that has been squashed completely peacefully.
00:11Drake and Kendrick Lamar?
00:13No, not Drake and Kendrick Lamar, but Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar.
00:18You know that Lil Wayne was very publicly upset when Roc Nation and the NFL
00:25chose Kendrick Lamar to do the Super Bowl halftime show.
00:29The game is in New Orleans.
00:31He is Mr. New Orleans.
00:32Everyone just figured, this is a slam dunk, right?
00:35You give it to Lil Wayne.
00:37He was very upset about it.
00:38And in fact, on Kendrick's new album, there's a track where he references Lil Wayne
00:44and basically says, apparently my success has let down Lil Wayne
00:49because he's upset at me for doing the halftime show.
00:53And there's a connection, obviously a strong connection, between Lil Wayne and Drake.
00:58Yes. Oh, Lil Wayne and Drake.
00:59Which is a big deal.
01:00Yeah. And Lil Wayne sort of put Drake, not sort of, did put Drake on.
01:06He's on his label, Young Money.
01:08So this is what Lil Wayne is saying about it now.
01:11What's interesting is, and I hadn't heard this before,
01:13but he was on with Skip Bayless this morning and revealed that he has actually
01:18spoken to Kendrick now about the Super Bowl halftime beef as such as it was.
01:24Here's what he had to say.
01:26What Kendrick Lamar, you know, what his lyrics were about you.
01:31I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down, from Kendrick Lamar.
01:37Let Lil Wayne down.
01:38And I don't really understand that.
01:41He's a fan, like I'm a fan of his music.
01:44He's a fan of mine.
01:45He's definitely a fan of yours.
01:47Yeah.
01:48Yeah, you know, so I think, and I think he just mean by,
01:51he saw what everybody else, like he saw how much it meant to me.
01:55And I think that's all he mean.
01:56And also I've spoken to him and I wished him all the best and told him,
02:00you better kill it.
02:01Yeah.
02:02All right.
02:03You better kill it.
02:04You gotta kill it.
02:05But you guys are cool.
02:07You have talked.
02:08Oh, yeah.
02:09Yeah.
02:10Yeah.
02:11Okay.
02:12All right.
02:13I told him you gotta kill it.
02:14That's what I told him.
02:15I said, I told him you gotta smash it.
02:17So crystal ball time.
02:19Wait a minute.
02:20Wait a minute.
02:21Is it possible that talking to Kendrick opens the door for Lil Wayne
02:26appearing during the halftime show?
02:29Yeah, I think you guys nailed it, you know,
02:31because Wayne had all the opportunity to diss Kendrick.
02:34You know, he's actually mentioned on Not Like Us, you know,
02:37so I think it's just, you know, just, it's just a resolution.
02:41So is Lil Wayne going to appear?
02:43Does this, I mean.
02:44Here's the thing.
02:45To say he spoke to him, they're cool.
02:47Yep.
02:48What else is there?
02:49I get that, and I agree that it certainly does open the door,
02:53but man, the Drake factor.
02:55I know.
02:56Just.
02:57And we know that Drake is petty,
02:59and he doesn't like people who are supposed to be his, on his side.
03:04If you're right.
03:05Cozying up to.
03:06Right.
03:07But if you're right, then Lil Wayne has already crossed the line
03:11by saying, hey, I've talked to Kendrick, I admire him,
03:13we admire each other.
03:14I guess the difference is that Lil Wayne is sort of Drake's boss, right?
03:19Like Lil Wayne brought him up.
03:21So maybe he gets a pass.
03:23Hey, this is Xavier Torrance.
03:25I'm from West Virginia, currently located in Tampa, Florida.
03:27And this topic is a little interesting to me because I feel like when we
03:30all found out that the Super Bowl was going to be in New Orleans,
03:33we was all guessing that it was going to be Lil Wayne.
03:35Like we was all expecting that.
03:37So it was kind of like left field when we found that it was going to be
03:40Kendrick.
03:41So I definitely get, you know, why he was upset,
03:43but I do respect and appreciate that Lil Wayne was still supportive of
03:46Kendrick and was rooting for him to put on a good show.
03:49And we already know that that Lil Wayne performance was going to be
03:51phenomenal.
03:52But with Kendrick, you know, he's had a good year this year and he
03:55dropped this recent album.
03:57So there's no doubt that he's going to put on a great performance as
03:59well.
04:00And I can't wait to watch it.
04:01The question is with who?
04:02Well, certainly with SZA.
04:04And then beyond that, I don't know.
04:06I don't know about Wayne.
04:08I don't think the Wayne thing's happening.
