00:00All right, Vikings-Bears, speaking of non-competitive, another non-competitive game, Vikings just
00:10dominated this game.
00:11Bears couldn't stop the Vikings at all, and they couldn't get a fourth down conversion.
00:16So I don't know what more there is to add here.
00:19The Bears are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season, and the Vikings
00:22are one of the most surprising.
00:23Did I sum it up?
00:25I think that's about right.
00:26I think the real consternation people have with the Bears, I think, is they were considering
00:32a coaching change last year, there were some rumors about it, were they going to move on
00:35from Matt Eberfloos, and the defense played well enough the second half of the year that
00:39they gave him this extra year, and it just hasn't panned out at all.
00:43The offense has been a disaster.
00:45Shane Waldron struggled in his first year as the offense coordinator, was fired.
00:50They promoted Thomas Brown to offense coordinator, now he's the interim head coach.
00:55I mean, there's just so many moving parts here, that how can Caleb Williams have success
00:58there as a rookie?
01:00You hate to see it when a highly touted pick comes in and there's a lot of chaos around
01:04him, especially with a roster that talented, it feels like they should have done a better
01:08job.
01:09And then, on the flip side of it, coming into the year, I looked at the Vikings' roster
01:13and their offense, and I said, hey, you know, if Sam Darnold is good, this team has a chance
01:17to be better than people expected.
01:19But I didn't expect them to be this good, I don't think anyone did, 12-2 with a legitimate
01:23chance to win the NFC North, it's probably going to come down to that last game, when
01:28they play the Lions in Week 18.
01:30I think that just speaks to the great job Kevin O'Connell has done, and his hire of
01:35Brian Flores to run that defense now, two years ago, has really paid off, because when
01:41the Vikings made the playoffs in O'Connell's first season, they had the bottom-ranked defense
01:44in the league.
01:45Now, they're one of the toughest units to play, because Flores uses all those exotic
01:50pressure schemes, and I just think it's just, if you look at this from an organizational
01:54standpoint, Minnesota got the right guys in the right places, built a round without a
01:59quarterback, really, or built a round Kirk Cousins, but then said, hey, we can do this
02:03with another guy, and they moved on from it at the right time.
02:06So, kudos to the Vikings for figuring this out, they're going to be a fun team to watch
02:09in this postseason.
