00:00Residents in Liverpool are being reminded that a revised bin collection service will be in place
00:05over the Christmas and New Year period. As we prepare for mounts of cardboard boxes from
00:10deliveries, wrapping paper and possibly a few more empty bottles than usual, it's important
00:14to keep track of the changes to bin collections. In Liverpool, all bin collections will be moved
00:19back by between one and three days with changes taking place from Christmas Day. Stickers have
00:24already been placed on bins around the city to make people aware of the changes. Crews will be
00:29working on three Saturdays in the post-Christmas period to ensure that all waste is collected at
00:33the earliest possible opportunity. Normal service will resume on Monday January 13th.
00:39Anyone with excess waste can take it to one of the city's household recycling centres.
00:43The centres in Otterspool and Old Swan will be open from 8am to 5pm on all days except Christmas
00:49Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Green bin collections for garden waste have been suspended
00:53over the winter period and will restart at the end of February 2025.
