00:00But after the game, and on the Bengals,
00:03after their final offensive possession,
00:05Joe Burrow clearly frustrated, yelling at Zach Taylor.
00:08And it had to do with the procedural penalties
00:10with his frustration.
00:12And so before we get into my thoughts on it,
00:16here's Joe Burrow on his frustration,
00:18and then Zach Taylor discussing the delay of game penalty
00:24on their final drive that backed them up
00:27from the one yard line back in the red zone.
00:30And clearly Joe Burrow was frustrated about that.
00:32Here's what Joe and Zach had to say.
00:34I was just frustrated in the day that we had on offense.
00:38It was too sloppy.
00:39We had too many penalties, too many procedural penalties.
00:43I had too many turnovers.
00:47It was just a frustrating day on offense.
00:50The headset went out a couple of times on that same drive.
00:53And sometimes I'm not sure what he's getting through there
00:56because mine was making a mistake too.
00:59And I should have been aware of it and called timeout
01:02to keep it on the one yard line.
01:03It just, that one, as I'm trying to,
01:05sometimes you're focused on getting the play in.
01:07And on that one, I lost track of the play clock,
01:10and he probably did too.
01:11And Zach Taylor was asked directly
01:13about the back and forth with Joe Burrow,
01:15and he described it as that as a back and forth.
01:17So I didn't want to dive into that too much.
01:21But when you think about Joe Burrow,
01:24what comes to mind, right?
01:27Elite quarterback, leads by example,
01:29not necessarily a vocal leader.
01:31Well, he's been more vocal this year.
01:33Think about the Raiders game
01:34and how frustrated he was during a win.
01:37And now you see it this time,
01:40and again against the Titans,
01:42and even more so where he's screaming at Zach Taylor.
01:45One, I have no problem with that.
01:47I have no problem with Joe Burrow being frustrated.
01:49He should be frustrated.
01:50The Bengals have not played well this season.
01:52They haven't.
01:53I mean, we're talking about two wins
01:55where he's this frustrated.
01:57And so whether it's the Raiders game at home,
02:01whether it's the other day against the Titans,
02:04I think about this,
02:05and this is the evolution of Joe Burrow that we're seeing.
02:09Because Joe Burrow has been this close
02:12to winning a Super Bowl.
02:14He went undefeated in the college level,
02:17dragged his team to the state championship in high school.
02:20He knows the standard.
02:22And this Bengals team does not meet that standard.
02:25I think it's certainly,
02:27when you talk about the big picture,
02:30is why he's talking about Tee Higgins' future
02:33and says Tee is a need.
02:34Because he knows that they have to get better
02:36this off-season.
02:38And they have to find ways to improve
02:39because they're not good enough right now.
02:41And yeah, and we're gonna talk about it
02:43on End of the Jungle on Tuesday night.
02:45There's a path for them to make the playoffs.
02:47So stay tuned for that.
02:48We'll discuss that, the likelihood,
02:50the confidence level, all of those things.
02:52It's a very small percentage chance.
02:542.1% to be exact.
02:56But this is Joe Burrow evolving
02:59the same way Peyton Manning did,
03:00the same way Tom Brady did.
03:02Tom Brady wasn't screaming at guys in 2002.
03:07But by 2007, 2006, 2008,
03:12this guy, that's exactly what he would do.
03:14And he got hurt in 08, 09.
03:16Peyton Manning wouldn't scream at guys in 98.
03:20But by 01, 02, 03, he was not afraid
03:23to let his teammates know, let his coaches know.
03:26And that's what we're starting to see from Joe Burrow.
03:28He knows the standard.
03:29He knows how hard it is.
03:31I think back to with Brady,
03:33the famous 28 to three comeback in the Super Bowl.
03:37And he's screaming at his offense.
03:39We gotta be faster, tougher.
03:41We gotta play hard.
03:42Like just screaming at them on the sideline.
03:44And he had thrown a pick six in that game.
03:46You know, it's one of those things
03:48where it doesn't mean you're blameless.
03:51It's the opposite.
03:52It's you understand what the standard is.
03:54You understand that you're never out of it.
03:56And so that's why Tom made those comments.
03:58I think that's what we're seeing from Joe Burrow here
03:59is he's evolving into the next phase of his career,
04:03which is a 28-year-old veteran that knows what it takes.
04:08That knows that he's got to hold these guys
04:11to a certain standard, to a certain level.
04:13That he's gotta hold his coach to a certain level.
04:16And so these delay of game penalties,
04:17these procedural penalties, all of these things
04:20that really impact and make it sloppy
04:24and make it hard on offense
04:25and a frustrating day on offense,
04:27it adds up, it stacks up.
04:30And so yeah, the frustration is building.
04:32Joe Burrow's frustrated.
04:33He should be.
04:35He's thrown 36 touchdown passes this year.
04:38He's been awesome.
04:40Awesome.
04:41It was his first two interception game
04:43on Sunday of the season.
04:45Most quarterbacks do that multiple times in a year.
04:48And there's a real chance that Joe doesn't this year.
04:51And yet, you look up,
04:54and they have a 2% chance to make the playoffs.
