00:00House lawmakers defended the decisions made regarding the budgets of the Department of Education or DepEd
00:06and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth under the 2025 national budget.
00:12House Deputy Majority Leader Paulo Ortega, Assistant Majority Leaders Jude Asidre and
00:18Representative Jefferson Congon clarified the budget for the DepEd continues to be one of
00:24the priorities of the Marcos administration. Representative Congon explained a huge chunk
00:30of allocations from the national budget has been set aside to the education sector contrary to what
00:37many people believe. In fact, the Marcos administration has provided funds for the
00:42construction of several education infrastructures. Meanwhile, lawmakers say PhilHealth still has
00:48remaining funds it only needs to fix the problem with its system.
