00:00G'day, I'm Helen DaCosta with The Land Newspaper and we're doing another interview today, this
00:05time with our wool broker Jack Finch. Jack, thanks for taking the time out to have a chat
00:11with us today. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into the industry?
00:17I'm Jack, Jack Finch, 27 years of age, been in the industry coming on seven years now. I
00:24started off originally going to school out of St Greg's in Campbeltown pursuing rugby league and
00:31then just through injury just went down to the farm and got involved with that and met a few
00:37mates and sort of went from there. So that's how I sort of started with it and different avenues
00:44open. Yeah, absolutely. And what was it that made you want to step into the wool industry?
00:49Um, it was sort of completing my Cert 3 in foreign agriculture at Tokyo and doing my
00:58wool casting certificate up there. So it's made me want to get into it a lot. I like the product,
01:04it's probably one of the optimistic products but I think it's one of the best merchant products in
01:08the world. Yeah, second sort of price from what I've heard at the moment. Yeah, I reckon I wanted
01:16to get into it because it was something unique and no one from my area has a good understanding
01:22on the backbone of Australia pretty much or, you know, Australia was pulling the ships back and
01:28when I go back to Sydney people say, oh what are you doing on a wool break or what's that?
01:33Explain that and it's way great. Yeah, absolutely.
