00:00this is Phil on the Cape hello Phil good morning everybody Merry Christmas same
00:06to you Merry Christmas Happy New Year most joyous time of year so on the Cape
00:13last night as I guess you guys talked about we had drones over here yes now
00:19when you come over the Sagamore Bridge if you look to your right when you're
00:22at the top of the bridge you'll see this square building in the woods what that
00:27square building is is Pave Paws Pave Paws is one of three satellite buildings
00:37that span the eastern seaboard there's more throughout the country Alaska but
00:44on Cape Cod in Sagamore right across the market basket you'll see assignments as
00:48Space Force that used to say Air Force well what that building is if there's a
00:55bottle cap that comes down from space the detection is so sensitive it can
01:04pick up that bottle cap entering our atmosphere if you fly 1,500 feet over
01:11the top of Pave Paws it'll be the same as you being inside of a microwave on
01:16high which is a horrible fact but nonetheless a fact yeah these these
01:22drones if they were a threat to us never mind the fact of our ability to
01:29pick up a bottle cap coming into our atmosphere we have Otis Air Force Base
01:33right behind Pave Paws and we have F-18s F-22 Raptors we have everything out
01:40here still anything could be scrambled at any time if you watch the video of
01:45these drones they go back and forth so and they also have indication lights
01:52marker lights so they're not hit by a plane a helicopter whatever you may call
01:59it so you're like unfortunately you're like everybody else in any alien
02:04invasion movie since the dawn of time who is willing to to sit back and and
02:12find out too late that they're here to kidnap you and probe you like I I I
02:18don't know what to tell you I I I don't know you'll be the one that saves us all
02:22then because when the ish hits the fan there's always that one person that's
02:27been on it from day one that we lean on to help us with the alien invasion I have
02:34one point about the the the the end of world type of shows if you love a show
02:39about how the world's ending yep you can't advertise for those kits that save
02:44you if the world ends because then I can't take you like the prepper kit
02:50right like if you're making money off it it kind of invalidates your point right
02:55like whatever I'm at my parents house in the background I always hear gold and
02:58kits to save yourself well I didn't save yourself because if the world not
03:03necessarily like meteor hits it ends but if there is an alien invasion it's
03:09something like you have to be it and you got to live off the grid or in a
03:13bunker I think it's a lot of that kind of stuff that helps you survive no I'm
03:17just saying if you're telling us the world's ending and then you go to break
03:20and you're saying buy this freedom kit that protects you right to me I can't
03:24take you seriously because you're just looking to sell a product well I mean
03:28there are people that rise above right when these kinds of things happen the
03:33preppers yeah the preppers 100% yeah they're really big now where what they're
03:41they're doing is building the prepper bunkers now all celebrities are getting
03:48into them underneath their mansions to be able to survive the aliens just you
03:54if you if you meet with them and you show them that you're somebody that they
03:58can use to run the place once they've taken it over then you can I mean not to
04:03say that you're gonna be a traitor or anything but you can catapult yourself
04:06it's kind of like the the governor and Woodbury and in Walking Dead shot great
04:14reference good poem yeah but the governor was running the whole thing and
04:17on the side of the oftentimes on the side of bad but he main came maintain
04:22control of Woodbury it's true then until he didn't yeah until Rick and his crew
04:26screwed it all until it was too late this is coach from New Hampshire hey
04:30coach hey great show before turn your radio down before I get oh sorry hold on
04:37one second can you hear me better yes sir yes so before I get into my Patriots
04:44take a couple of quick cleanup items one my wife and I went to the beach
04:48Carmel last year for the road show we stayed in Truro on the Bayside for a
04:52couple of hundred dollars even wiggy the snob the hotel snob not the snob in
04:57general what would have loved it it was gorgeous number two the place suggested
05:02on Alton Bay that's way too small you want to look at where's Beach a new
05:07place called Doc's dox very much like a Puffer Belly's back in the day okay big
05:13huge place everyone would love it lastly the Patriots I like how Gerard first of
05:20all Gerard Mayo is safe for another year I think we all kind of think that and I
05:24like how he wants to play some kids to see and even Cole strange down the
05:28stretch but can he please and I'm begging can they please coach the game
05:33like they don't give a rat's ass whether they win or lose like who cares whether
05:39you win or lose just coach with the you-know-what out and just have some fun
05:43with it like I cannot deal with conservative coaching thank you yeah I
05:49mean I guess you're gonna find out whether he thinks he is coaching for his
05:54job or not if he does that very thing like I didn't care then he'd be going
05:59for it left and right and and not not concerned about it right but then he
06:03might be looking at well if I do that I'm not putting my team and myself in
06:08the best chance of winning cuz remember he talked about it where he feels like
06:11you know sometimes when you're a little bit more aggressive but they should get
06:16away he's had an extra week to get ready for this game yes so even you
06:20would say uh-huh that this team should be well prepared when it comes to this
06:26game on Sunday right yeah cuz you know you know what Arizona likes to do so I
06:30mean I think that's you are you're very cautious of saying anything negative at
06:34all about Gerard Mayo but I would say this the Kyler Murray in the first
06:40series against the Patriots was it a year or two ago two years ago when he
06:44went down like the first series of the game Kyler Murray blew out his knee on a
06:48Thursday night or a Sunday night game against the Patriots are you talking
06:53gaming or IRL IRL okay and then I think it was the guy from Texas Colt McCoy
07:00came in and sucked the Patriots over their history have been very bad against
07:06running quarterbacks even with Bill I don't think Sunday is gonna be a good
07:10day for them and I think the questions will persist about Mayo however I have a
07:14question for both of you in two years from right now who is more likely to be
07:20in the job they currently hold Gerard Mayo or Bill Belichick I think it's
07:26Bill Belichick I you think he's gonna go right back to the NFL now I think if he's
07:33successful and I expect him to be successful for a season though I remember
07:38what we were saying about Charlie Weiss how he had brought the brilliant offense
07:43to college football the tush push of Reggie Bush that beat Notre Dame at the
07:48end of that I think it was like 2005 or six it was 2005 and that happened at
07:58this you know the whole talk was Charlie Weiss he got three new deals in the
08:02first two seasons at Notre Dame because his offense had success with Brady Quinn
08:07and that's a guy that had never won a Super Bowl as a head coach in the NFL if Bill
08:11Belichick goes to North Carolina and starts off the way Dion did it Colorado
08:15he is going to the NFL so that's why I think Mayo will likely be where he is
08:19not because Bill's gonna suck I think Bill will be in the NFL in two years he
08:24has to I think he has to do better than that because remember Dion started like
08:302-0 or something like decades he beat TCU and then they kind of went
08:33downhill so they were kind of criticizing him but his second year
08:36which was I believe his second year is this year is when he really turned
08:40things around if you look at that they maybe two or three and oh and then they
08:43struggled a little bit if Bill can if Bill can like have a competitive team
08:53that is winning because the schedule is real favorable so if they're like you
08:58know six and one six and two five and three and they're like oh man this team
09:05is like Bill has done a great job with them I I think after the one year and
09:12you brought it up Greg the one year buyout for a million dollars leads me to
09:18believe that I don't think he pulls the plug after the first year but I could
09:23see him two or three years at UNC and then he's back in the NFL it seems like
09:27he like hearing him talk yesterday he's fired up about it he is he's been they
09:32were guys have been reaching out to him for advice but you know as as the
09:38college game becomes more like the NFL game you know whether it's you know two
09:44minutes or whatever the you know whatever the changes and he the question
09:49becomes like does he have an advantage because of who he is when it comes to
09:54guys who are in the portal like does he have an advantage with somebody like
09:58Arch Manning for instance so I think he may in that he has done a season's worth
10:02of shows with Arch Manning's uncles and that obviously Bill I really believe
10:11that there will be a massive influx of talent this year they will spend to the
10:16to the gills because they they're gonna get down there and they're gonna realize
10:19that this is a unique opportunity but the total control component for Bill to
10:24me has far more to do to showing people in the NFL that he can do this without
10:29an owner that is meddling and trying to tell him what to do the way that Bill
10:33has been portrayed has been by everybody else since he left the Patriots on on the
10:39Subaru of New England text line the new text number Curtis why do you think Bill
10:44would want to grind it out in the NFL at 73 or 74 years old this is his retirement
10:50okay what has Nick Saban said what is the storyline about coaching in college
10:55now it's as or more stressful than coaching in the NFL you're in the portal
10:59you've got to have everybody's on a one-year contract mm-hmm what you don't
11:04get a guy in that he's yours for four years or if he has to sit out a year to
11:07play somewhere else Nick Saban left the best to ever do it in college because it
11:12was too taxing and in the in the playing field had been evened where Alabama
11:17didn't have this massive institutional edge over places like Colorado so to say
11:23that it's a relaxing job he's right now he's doing a hell of a lot more than he
11:29was I wonder as you think about everything that kind of goes into it is
11:34it I think they're both stressful and I think taxing is a good word I feel like
11:41college football might be more taxing than the NFL well because it's a one
11:47year it's essentially a one year and done mm-hmm because guys can go wherever
11:53they want right you can't even it's not even comparable to free agents because
11:57at least you're able to sign a free agent for an extended right you got a
12:01remake your roster every season right you drafted me you can't build a program
12:06like you can't you can't take a freshman and know what he's gonna be I mean not
12:11every kid leaves though but the portal a go look at the numbers from the portal
12:18year-to-year and how it's going up I think there's already like 2,000 players
12:21in the portal right now like you draft Drake May for example you got him for
12:27four years and then you want him you keep him because of the franchise like
12:30if you get so so here's a great hold on we great question Curtis in the twitch
12:36chat who spends more money this offseason bill with NIL or Patriots if
12:42it's close that craft needs to go oh my god sorry no I was just I was just did
12:49you see Kraft wearing the Ducat today that was weird I was just thinking you
12:54know not only with that you where in the NFL I know this stuff that happens like
13:00off the field but in college parents entrust you to basically be their
13:06babysitters right so that's got to be a lot of stuff that you know is a taxing
13:11on a head coach and coaches that are in college so I it'll be interesting to see
13:18how bill handles some of that kind of stuff
