This video broadly introduces the figure of the Controller. Initially conceived to be little more than a presentation of common lexicon and brevities, I eventually included recording and footage of the two incidents in the Gulf of Sidra/Sirte (1981 and 1989), plus a modern exercise. Listening to actual crews doing their job, serves to highlight the impressive evolution of comms, technology and lexicon over the years.
On top of an overview of common brevities that help you understand the recordings, I have added a representation of common descriptors and Picture labels.

*** NOTES ***
I have written the transcript of the Modern Engagement myself, then Brody Zachary double-checked it, and filled the gaps. Being a Simplified English native speaker helps :) Thanks mate!
Second Gulf of Sidra incident: I have found several sources online, and they all fundamentally diverged. Some were plainly wrong, others mixed the events or were incomplete. Eventually, I started from scratch, tabula rasa, and I used the events as described by Ward Carroll in his channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyMfC3M0fZQ), plus some audio filters, to try to nail the comms and the sources. It took me a full day, and I hope you will enjoy it.
Compared to the YouTube version, I had to cut some of the music due to copyright strikes.
