00:00Since the beginning of this month, about 100 people have been going around Johor Bahru
00:09city, putting smiles on people's faces, sharing Christmas joy through public performances
00:14and caroling sessions.
00:16Pastor Krystaline Deborah Nagarajan from the Johor Bahru Calvary Community Church said
00:20many children and adults would sing along and participate in the sessions.
00:26The first one, we started on Sunday, on the 8th of December, the public performances,
00:31and we were in Ehon Datuk On, and there were a huge response of people, like people were
00:36watching from different levels, and everybody felt very excited and happy, and they were
00:41sitting down and watching the performance.
00:44Krystaline and her husband Jeffrey Ryan Seridran have been actively involved in public projects,
00:49with plans for the performances and caroling starting in September.
00:53She said the performances included children, teenagers, and adults.
00:57So the kids started practicing two weeks into September, since September.
01:08The choreographers started choreographing in August itself.
01:13Every single week the kids will practice, we will be there to train them, teach, and
01:18everybody will practice together.
01:19We had two full dress rehearsals to make sure the flow is all set.
01:24Krystaline says the Calvary Community Church has been doing public performances for over
01:2830 years.
01:29This year, the teams were divided, with one group performing in malls, and the other caroling
01:35at smaller venues.
01:37So actually public performances, we have not done it for many, many years already, especially
01:41after COVID happened, but we have been doing caroling for many, many, many years now.
01:48But I think public performances has always been a DNA of Calvary Community Church.
01:53Besides sketches and songs, there are also quizzes for the audience and goodie bags for
01:57those attending the events.
01:59The Christmas service will be at the Danga Bay Convention Centre on December 22nd, and
02:04the New Year service at the EduCity Indoor Stadium on December 28th.
