A tourist has defended conducting a "walking tour" of the hotel and area where UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed.
Laith Mekouar, 23, and his friends were in the city celebrating a birthday and were keen to see the New York Hilton Midtown hotel after watching clips on the news.
The marketing professional posted what he called his "walking tour" on TikTok - and was inundated with comments.
But he has defended the move and said he thought it was "hilarious" and "couldn’t stop laughing" - and said it was a "joke".
He also defended his actions by pointing out how people frequently visit other sites associated with tragedy.
