00:00Volcanoes are still trying to evacuate those living in the 6-kilometer danger zone of Canlaon
00:06even though there are fewer smogs in the volcano.
00:10Of the more than 80,000 target evacuees, less than half have been evacuated.
00:15This is Aileen Pedrezo of GMA Regional TV.
00:21A thin layer of volcanic smog was seen this morning
00:24when aerial surveys were conducted around the volcano
00:27by some officials of the Office of Civil Defense at PHVOCS.
00:30According to OCD Region 6, even though there is less smog,
00:35the sulfur dioxide still smells when it enters their helicopter.
00:40The task force said earlier that all ash emissions and eruptive activity of the volcano are only in the summit crater.
00:47Around the volcano, there are still problems with those left behind,
00:50such as the resort in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, where the swimming pool is full of ash.
00:56Even the animals are affected.
01:12That's why GMA Kapuso Foundation has sent help to the residents of La Carlota City.
01:27I am thankful that we were able to receive food packs,
01:30and we were able to send them to others.
01:33Thank you to GMA Kapuso.
01:35I am very thankful that we were able to receive food packs from around the barangay.
01:39According to the latest OCD report,
01:41almost 10,000 families or 9,942 evacuated following the eruption of the volcano.
01:48But that's not even half of the target evacuees from the 6-kilometer danger zone.
01:54According to OCD, they are still trying to evacuate people despite the smog from the volcano.
02:14According to the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 6,
02:18the alert level of the volcano can still be raised based on the monitoring of PHEVOX.
02:22There's really a chance that it will elevate to alert level 4.
02:26That's why to avoid double handling, we are already planning for level 4.
02:30In one resolution, Negros Occidental Provincial DRRMC recommended that the evacuation to the State of Calamity should be done immediately.
02:38It is expected to be discussed in the session of the immediate evacuation tomorrow.
02:43For GMA Integrated News, I am Aileen Pedrezo of GMA Regional TV, your witness.
