00:00Hey, it's People in 10.
00:05So Taylor Swift just wrapped up her heiress tour with an epic finale in Vancouver.
00:09That's 152 shows across five continents.
00:17Over 10 million people came to see her shake it off, equaling about $2 billion in ticket
00:23sales.
00:24That's double the gross of any other tour in history, enough that Tay-Tay was able to
00:27give her performance and crew almost $200 million in bonuses, on top of their actual
00:33salaries.
00:34Mike, drop.
00:35Beyoncé and Blue Ivy shined down the red carpet at the LA premiere of Mufasa, The Lion
00:42King.
00:43Bey rocked a curve-hugging, circle-plated dress with a thigh-high slit, while her baby
00:47girl, who's somehow 12 already, dazzled in her own strapless ball gown.
00:52Now, their whole family was there to support, as Blue makes her feature film debut as Kiara,
00:57while mom reprises her iconic role as Nala.
01:00Mufasa roars into theaters on December 20th.
01:02You see what I did there?
01:04So go check it out.
01:06But Blue Ivy's big moment was a little overshadowed by her own dad, Jay-Z.
01:10This week, he's denying accusations that he sexually assaulted a minor at a ditty party
01:15back in 2000.
01:16Let's call Alex for the latest.
01:18Hey, Mako.
01:19What's up?
01:20Hey, Alex.
01:21Okay, girl, these are some serious allegations.
01:25How is this impacting Jay and his family?
01:27So Jay-Z came out and he called the claims heinous while denying them, but what he really
01:31wanted to make clear was that he's aware of how this is going to affect his family in
01:35particular, right?
01:36He said he and Beyonce are going to have to sit their kids down.
01:39You remember, they have 12-year-old Blue Ivy and seven-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir.
01:42He said we're going to have to sit the kids down to explain the, quote, cruelty and greed
01:46of people.
01:47And then he also talked about having to mourn, quote, yet another loss of innocence and having
01:51to explain all of this to the kids.
01:54That's going to be a tough family dinner.
01:56Absolutely, it is.
01:57So for those of us who maybe don't know the details, take us back to exactly what happened,
02:02allegedly.
02:03So earlier this year, an unnamed woman filed a civil lawsuit alleging that she was raped
02:07by Diddy and an unnamed male celebrity at an MTV VMA after party in 2000.
02:14She said she was 13 years old at the time, and she also mentioned that, you know, while
02:18this incident was happening, there was an unnamed female celebrity watching.
02:21Now, Jane Doe has amended that lawsuit, and she has named Jay-Z as that other male celebrity.
02:26Wow, that's a lot to process.
02:28And this is all amid Diddy's other legal situation, federal sex trafficking, et cetera.
02:33Correct.
02:34So that's all going on at the same time, but it is important to note that this is completely
02:37unrelated to those charges, if you can believe that.
02:40And that trial is scheduled for May.
02:42Woo, Alex, I hope the truth comes to light.
02:45Thank you for the info.
02:46I'll talk to you later.
02:47Absolutely.
02:48Talk to you later.
02:49Drama alert.
02:50So last week, we told you how Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter went their separate
02:53ways after about a year of dating.
02:55And now, Barry's setting the record straight.
02:57We knew something was going on when he deactivated his Instagram, saying,
03:01I can only sit and take so much.
03:03He hinted at needing space from all the online chaos, including allegations he's a deadbeat
03:08dad to son Brando, and that he cheated with influencer Brecky Hill.
03:12No, I did not get with Barry.
03:14I have never even encountered this man in my life.
03:17The breakup has fans spiraling, but y'all, let's not jump to conclusions.
03:23One of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders is making her mark by taking off her wig.
03:27Monday night was the very first time Arani Latimer went wigless since revealing her alopecia
03:32diagnosis on America's Sweethearts.
03:35She was first diagnosed when she was 12, which was about 11 years ago.
03:38And she says it's been tough, but her family, both on and off the field, have helped her
03:43stay strong.
03:44And now, thanks to her confidence, she's raising awareness around the condition.
03:48In a tear-filled reel, Armani hugged her teammates, hit the field, and crushed the thunderstruck
03:53routine.
03:54So proud that you're doing this, and you're just representing a lot of little girls out
03:58there.
03:59She's shining and inspiring.
04:01Total queen.
04:02In case you live under a rock, a suspect in the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting was arrested
04:08this week and charged with the Manhattan murder of Brian Thompson.
04:11Luigi Mangione is an Ivy League grad from Maryland who most recently lived in Hawaii.
04:16He was caught after an employee at a Pennsylvania McDonald's recognized him and called police.
04:21A man's gotta get his food.
04:23Friends say he went radio silent over the summer and suffered from debilitating chronic
04:27back pain.
04:28He even had surgery last year.
04:30His family says they're shocked and devastated at his arrest, and some parts of the internet
04:34agree.
04:35There are some people calling for justice to be served, but others have dubbed him a
04:39modern-day Robin Hood, going as far as to hold a lookalike contest and petition for
04:44his release.
04:46The British Royals are known for keeping their cards close to their chest.
04:50They rarely release info, and when they do, it's curated just so.
04:55But after this meeting right here, we're getting the tea.
04:58So Trump sat down with Prince William over the weekend in Paris, where they attended
05:02the reopening of Notre Dame, with William representing his dad, King Charles, who began
05:06treatment for cancer this year.
05:08William's wife, Princess Kate, of course, famously did too, and Trump said he asked
05:12him about that.
05:13And William said Kate's doing well, and his father is fighting very hard.
05:17But that he loves them both, so quote, it was sad.
05:20Now this is all according to Trump, who says they had a great talk for about half an hour.
05:25As for more superficial takeaways, he said William is very handsome, adding quote, some
05:30people look better in person.
05:32He looked great.
05:33He looked really nice, and I told him that.
05:37So there you have it, I guess.
05:40Mama Bea Katie Holmes has her daughter's back.
05:43So first, she called out a report saying her ex-husband Tom Cruise had given their daughter
05:47Suri a million dollar trust fund.
05:49And now that Suri is 18, the report said it had finally kicked in.
05:53But she didn't stop there.
05:54She then defended her choice to speak up in an Instagram comment, saying false reports
05:58like this are dangerous because she doesn't want a target on Suri's back.
06:03Christmas aren't always as they appear, and one couple found that out the hard way.
06:07They went Christmas tree hunting and thought they found the perfect tree, so they dragged
06:11it to their truck and took it home.
06:13But once the snow melted, they realized there weren't really a lot of branches, and it was
06:18too tall for their living room.
06:19But they're going viral for how determined they were to cut it down and decorate it the
06:23best they could.
06:24Hey, if it's good enough for Charlie Brown, it's good enough for us.
06:30Now it's the sit down with Alexander Ludwig.
06:32Hi Alexander.
06:33How did you arrive at this project?
06:35What was the casting process like?
06:37Michael Wright, the head of MGM Plus, gave me a call and said, this is my favorite book.
06:43The Oscar winning producer of The Sting and Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Taxi
06:49Driver has had the rights to this book for 30 years and we're going to make it.
06:54And I think you should helm this project.
06:57And obviously I was tremendously honored.
06:59And then he said, this will be the most daunting and also most rewarding thing you ever do.
07:09And he delivered on both of those promises.
07:12It was at times horrifying and at times incredibly gratifying.
07:16And I am so proud of this project and I can't wait for the world to see it.
07:20This book has a serious fan base, which can add extra pressure to do it justice.
07:24How did you put your own spin on your character?
07:26It's a really good question.
07:27I've done adaptations in the past and for me, I've realized that I'm working on the
07:32screenplay and what makes this special is that, you know, I'm playing Ish, incredible
07:37Jessica Frances Dukes is playing Emma, and together we're bringing these characters to
07:43life in our own way while staying true to the themes of the book.
07:48Of course, you want to do right by the fans and I think we really have.
07:52We wanted to be as true to the screenplay as we possibly could.
07:55I was happily surprised to see Aaron Tveit's name in the cast.
07:58I love him from Broadway.
08:00Did he ever sing between takes?
08:01I have not heard him sing yet.
08:03I need to get him to sing.
08:12But oh my gosh, Aaron in this show is a force of nature.
08:19Aaron, he was probably my biggest surprise and he just had a baby.
08:23So he's now a daddy.
08:25Besides playing a hunky geologist in a post-apocalyptic society, you're also a dad times two.
08:30So how does it feel from going from one to now two?
08:33It's incredible.
08:34And, you know, in some weird, crazy universe, my life off screen was paralleling my life
08:42on screen.
08:43So without giving too much away, when something incredibly significant happened to my son
08:49in the show, that same day, my son was being born.
08:55And, you know, Lauren and I had planned for this.
08:57And truthfully, if I had a rocket ship, I wouldn't have been able to make it to the
09:00hospital in time.
09:01And we knew that this was a possibility.
09:03But there was this just well of emotion that I had no problem dipping into because it was
09:11just so real.
09:12And at the forefront of my mind, when I finally got to meet him a week later and my wife was
09:19just just such a rock star, I mean, just as I don't know how she does it.
09:24I mean, women in general and mothers in general, it's just like the hardest, most incredible
09:29thing to witness.
09:31But I was just a mess.
09:33I sent everybody this mess, this text of my video meeting my son.
09:37And I was just like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry I wasn't there.
09:42It was just like it was it was really real.
09:45I imagine fatherhood has changed a lot of things in your life.
09:49Has your approach to acting changed at all?
09:51Totally.
09:52I'd be willing to bet that I wouldn't have had the offer for this job had I not been
09:56a father.
09:57It has changed my approach to to everything.
09:59I think I have this just this depth to me that I didn't know existed and also a bit
10:04of a levity because also a lot of the pressure I used to put on myself, I realized it might
10:11have been misplaced.
10:12You know, I think that I've realized what actually matters.
10:17I just wanted to be the most present father I can be.
10:22And I had to start by being a good example.
10:24Can we talk about the recycled jewelry company that you and your beautiful wife, Lauren,
10:28created together?
10:29I love the collection and inspo behind it.
10:32She's incredible.
10:33I can't take any credit for this.
10:34Like Lauren has is just like an insane designer.
10:38And she she has she set up this company almost single handedly while she was pregnant with
10:44our first daughter.
10:46So I just I don't know how she's done it.
10:48She's superwoman.
10:49Finally, I'm going to put 10 seconds on the clock.
10:52Promote any one of your projects.
10:53Ready?
10:54Go.
10:55Earth Abides is post-apocalyptic.
10:56It's about people.
10:59It's amazing.
11:00It's what would actually happen in a post-apocalyptic scenario.
11:02Alexander, thank you so much for joining us.
11:05Thank you so much.
