00:00Relief and evacuation efforts in Mt. Canlaon's danger zone and beyond have drawn all hands from government services agencies.

00:07Even better, the men and women of the PNP have joined to help lighten the work

00:11even as a wider evacuation is on standby in the event of a stronger volcanic blast.

00:22Philippine National Police has ceased evacuation efforts for residents living at the foot of Mt. Canlaon.

00:28According to PNP spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo,

00:3224 barangays are affected by the volcanic activity, four of which are directly impacted by the eruption.

00:38In the affected areas, once evacuated, we will leave the police there to make sure

00:46that they will not return to the critical areas to avoid any incident where they will return

00:53and suddenly erupt again. This time, it will be stronger. We will have a harder time.

00:57Around 400 police officers have been deployed, with additional units on standby if needed.

01:02The Department of Interior and Local Government has ordered local government

01:05units to immediately evacuate residents living within the 46-kilometer permanent danger zone.

01:10Priority is given to evacuating vulnerable sectors including pregnant women,

01:14children, the elderly, and the persons with disabilities.

01:17DALG's Secretary John Bicremuglia also instructed the immediate distribution of food,

01:22non-food items, and personal protective equipment. Critical teams such as search and rescue,

01:26evacuation, and medical services are to be on standby for deployment in high-risk areas.

01:31The DALG has empowered local chief executives to declare state of calamity,

01:35suspend classes, work, and other activities if necessary. Meanwhile,

01:39DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian assured continued support for those affected by the eruption of

01:44Mount Canlaon. Gatchalian announced this during his visit to Negros Island to assist the situation

01:49and the needs of the affected residents. According to Gatchalian, this is in line with the President

01:53Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure that evacuated families receive food, clean water,
