00:00The government is tightening the possibility of carrying out guerrilla operations in Pogo.
00:06Only a few days are left before all its licenses are invalidated.
00:11Details on the national news of Kenneth Paciente of PTV Manila.
00:16Since December 15, all licenses of Pogo in the country have been canceled.
00:22That's what the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, or PAGCOR,
00:26followed the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in his 3rd State of the Nation Address.
00:32In his press briefing, PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro Tenco said
00:36that he will not wait for the end of the year to end the Pogo operations in the Philippines.
00:42Instead, he will speed up the opening of Pogo operations in the Philippines.
00:46In fact, since the President announced the end of Pogo operations in the country,
00:51the number of Pogo operations in the Philippines has decreased to six from the previous 300.
00:56Since July, as we speak, there are only seven Pogo operations in the country.
01:07They are already preparing and requesting for the cancellation of their respective licenses.
01:17But the government's lackluster agencies do not ignore the possibility
01:21that the guerrilla operations of Pogo or their Pagunilang Operation will be lifted.
01:26But there are still some who will remain.
01:28And we are looking at around 100 plus.
01:33So those are the rogue Pogos that we call.
01:35Those are the former Pogo workers who joined together
01:40and made a small Pogo hub or Pogo operation in one house.
01:44It can be in an apartment, it can be in a resort, it can be in a hotel.
01:51That is something that the government and the law enforcement agencies are trying to do.
01:56Those who are able to do it, they will do it in their own way.
02:00In our estimation, it is easy for them to find, it is easy for them to stop.
02:06As to the President's instructions, we will make it very difficult for them
02:11until they say that it is no longer worth operating in the Philippines.
02:15According to the DILG, since the former 350,000 visas were issued to Pogo workers,
02:2123,000 have already been deported.
02:24More than 6,000 are still in the country,
02:26of which more than 5,000 have already downgraded their visas to tourists.
02:31The Pogo hubs in Island Cove in Kawitkawite have also been visited to close them.
02:37Again, the government insisted that there will be no effect on the country's economy
02:41by stopping the Pogo operations.
02:43The DOLE's Job Employment Caravan will also be set up
02:46for the affected Pogo workers.
02:49From PTV Manila, Kenneth Paciente, Balitang Pambansa.
