00:00Hello James. Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate you.
00:03Yeah, of course.
00:04Jesus, you're handsome. Thank you so much.
00:05Oh, stop it. The lighting.
00:07Hey, welcome to London.
00:09Welcome to this big UK premiere.
00:10What are your favourite memories of coming to the UK, of being in London? Any that stand out to you?
00:15I don't know what it is about this city that every time I come here I feel like I've been here before.
00:19And I have, several times, but I mean in another light.
00:22Just because, like this weather, people ask me why I don't have a coat.
00:25I love it. I love the cold.
00:27I love the city. It feels like it kind of like wraps you up in its arms.
00:31It's really cosy and I love the city. I don't know. I just love being here.
00:35There must be some British ancestry.
00:37I think there is. I think there is.
00:39Hey, we're on the first Sonic film now. Congratulations on that alone.
00:42But does it get easier, is it second nature at this point to act opposite a character that isn't there actually in front of you?
00:49Yeah, yeah. It's almost too second nature.
00:51I go home talking to myself, thinking I'm talking to someone else.
00:55Yeah, it's fun. I mean it was a challenge in the first movie because you want to make sure you get everything technically correct.
01:01But it's a skill that everyone's having to learn now.
01:05There's so many of these movies where there's a mix of live action and animated characters.
01:10Now we have these puppets that go on set and puppeteers that do the voices.
01:14The first movie was like a tennis ball on a stick.
01:17So it's nice that that's evolved a bit.
01:19But yeah, you just trust the filmmakers. You know that they're going to end up making it work.
01:24We started out with an exciting gang of yourself and Ben and Jim.
01:27Then we added Idris in the second film. Now we've added Keanu as well.
01:31Is it just becoming more and more amazing as we grow this franchise?
01:35Yeah, I think so. I think it's a testament to what we've created in the past.
01:40The fans are over here chanting about it. It's nuts.
01:43You've got people like Keanu who want to come out and be a part of it.
01:46It's special. It's a pretty cool thing.
01:50I never liked the phrase kids movie.
01:53You can make something for adults that's just as entertaining that the kids are going to love as well.
01:58I think we sort of hit that sweet spot with these movies.
02:01We're already looking ahead to next year. It's crazy that we're almost in 2025.
02:05I saw that next year one of the exciting things for you is a buddy action film with Vince Vaughn.
02:09Can you tell me anything about that?
02:13I guess it's untitled now because they haven't committed to the title.
02:17Me, Vince Vaughn, Eiza Gonzalez. It's action comedy.
02:21This is all I can really say without giving anything away.
02:24It's a new concept. It's a really interesting concept.
02:28I don't feel like you've seen before in a movie, without spoiling it.
02:32That makes me think of Jury Duty.
02:35It's a new concept, something I haven't seen before. Is that what we're hoping to do again?
02:39It's why this movie appealed to me.
02:42We have an opportunity to break ground a little bit with it.
02:45I'm always gravitating towards risk.
02:48Creative risk. Try something new.
02:51I'm not interested in doing the same thing over and over again.
02:54Finally for me, in 2025, what is the thing that you are most looking forward to in the new year?
02:59In the new year, what am I looking forward to?
03:04Professionally, globally.
03:07I'm actually going to travel quite a bit more.
03:11I love working, but I want to ease off the gas a little bit and spend more time with my kids.
