00:00While celebrating the anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS,

00:06President Bombao Marcos urged that you should not send warships to resupply fishermen in the West Philippine Sea.

00:20On the day that China Coast Guard bombed the BRP Datu Pagbuaya of BIFAR,

00:26near Bajo de Masinlok, a Chinese Navy ship was spotted near the Philippine ships.

00:34According to the PCG, this was the first time this happened in Bajo de Masinlok.

00:39One day after the Chinese ship was bombed,

00:42the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea said that

00:45it is possible for the Philippines to deploy warships of the Philippine Navy

00:48to join the resupply missions of BIFAR.

00:50If there are future resupply missions and we see the planned ships

00:56and they are approaching the Philippine Coast Guard and BIFAR ships,

01:01then it is possible that we will also deploy the Philippine Navy.

01:04According to the PCG, it is the President's decision.

01:08And that's what President Bombao Marcos said at the inauguration of the NLEX Kandaba III viaduct.

01:13We are not at war. We don't need Navy warships.

01:15All we are doing is resupplying our fishermen, protecting our territorial rights.

01:21It will be provocative and it will be seen as an escalation.

01:24We don't do that. The Philippines does not escalate tension.

01:28Quite the opposite. The Philippines always tries to bring down the level of tension.

01:33This was said by the President at the 42nd anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS,

01:39one of the foundations of the Philippines, through its right to the West Philippine Sea.

01:44This readiness to engage fully within the parameters set by UNCLOS

01:48is a testament to our unwavering belief in the peaceful means of settling disputes

01:53and the rule of law and the rules-based international border.

01:57As for Taiwan, it depends on the number of Chinese ships around Taiwan.

02:02Their military is now on high alert.

02:04According to Taiwan, China's naval deployment is the largest in almost three decades.

02:10According to Reuters, Chinese Navy and Coast Guard ships are already in the region.

02:15China has not yet announced if they will have a military drill in the area.

02:19When asked about this, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said,

02:24Taiwan is part of the territory of China.

02:27It is a democracy and Taiwan has its own government.

02:30But for China, it is their province. They are ready to fight back.
