00:00And speaking of goals, just before we get to the halfway point of the show,
00:03have you got a favourite goal of the year, Mark?
00:06What's your personal Busquets winner?
00:08I have, but I'm going beyond the Premier League here.
00:12Le Mania Mal for Spain against France in the Euro 2024 semi-final.
00:19I remember that game because I wasn't watching it on TV,
00:22I was actually watching it on my mobile phone.
00:25I had a local non-league friendly that I was supposed to be working at,
00:29but kind of had one eye on the game.
00:33And it was quite funny because when the goal went in,
00:35it was everyone that was around me stopped and started watching the replays of it.
00:40And it was just, to me, it felt like one of those moments where,
00:43you know, when a young player just arrives, and we knew how good
00:47Emile was, you know, at La Liga, or he'd done it over the previous
00:50season and a half, two seasons.
00:52This felt like the moment when someone that could go on to become
00:56a genuine great over the coming years, fully arrived on the world scene.
01:01What about you, Jason? You got a favourite goal of the year?
01:05Yeah, I think it has to be Alejandro Garnaccio against Everton, doesn't it?
01:09I mean, just, that was this year.
01:12It would be that guy, that was last November, wasn't it?
01:14Wasn't that 2023?
01:16Timer's suit, man. Timer's suit.
01:18You've just, I know what you've done, Jason.
01:21You have not done your research properly,
01:23you've looked at the Pushcash award shortlist, you've picked one out,
01:26and you've expected to get away with it, haven't you?
01:30In my defence, I sorely cover the Championship,
01:37so the Premier League isn't exactly my strong suit, anyway.
01:42But yeah, I mean, if we're going beyond the Premier League,
01:45and if I'm not allowed to not look at last year, for some reason,
01:49in this annual recap, then I think it has to be Jude Bellingham, doesn't it?
01:55And we'll probably, I imagine, talk about it in the next section, anyway,
01:58but that goal to keep England in the Euros,
02:01that overhead kick, that moment,
02:05you know, just the ability to produce that from absolute thin air,
02:08to keep a dream alive,
02:10I don't think I've ever made a sound like that in my life,
02:13I don't think I ever will again.
02:15And while it might not be the best overhead kick that we've seen in the past,
02:18I don't know, let's say 12 to 18 months,
02:21yeah, you know, it's certainly still a truly special goal,
02:25so I'll go with Jude Bellingham.
