00:00Don't be that surprised, I have done a lot of films where I didn't get anything,
00:08I got some script and everything changed.
00:10So yeah, yeah, many films like that I've done and no,
00:14but see when you have a very solid director,
00:16she understands that every department,
00:18especially actors, should have complete knowledge of the film.
00:21So I think right away when we met,
00:24she sent me a script, I read it,
00:25I went back, she narrated parts of the script.
00:28We all knew very clearly what Adil was doing,
00:30what Shnur was doing, what I was doing,
00:32it was very clear.
00:33So much so that you could add stuff.
00:35When everything is clear to you,
00:38then you can go and add things.
00:40So that's what happened here I think, right?
00:42Yeah, yeah, 100%.
00:43I guess all of us had a lot of clarity
00:46and everyone knew what was going to happen.
00:50Yeah, I mean we were taking this project very sincerely from day one.
00:55When you get down on the floor,
00:57there's a big process before that as well,
00:59when you sit down for readings together,
01:01you discuss the script, you give your inputs.
01:05So after that whole process,
01:07you eventually get down on the floor.
01:09So by the time we were on the floor,
01:11we were all the characters that we were playing.
01:18We got this title later on,
01:20so we didn't take any inspiration from the title
01:24because this title didn't exist before,
01:25it was something else.
01:26So unfortunately we can't answer that
01:28and we are all very sincere actors.
01:30I mean, when you are doing any project,
01:34film show, whatever you are doing,
01:35you pay more attention to the story and your character than the title.
01:40So we were involved in the story,
01:42we were true to our characters, we believe.
01:45And then we were just doing that.
01:52Aishnur.
01:53Akshay.
01:54Adil.
01:55Me.
01:57All of us.
01:58I think our director's favourite character was the story.
02:08And according to that story,
02:10all three of us liked the director as much as we should have.
02:15And then I don't think there was any one character like that.
02:19She believes in equality.
02:20Yes, we were all the same.
02:24The storyline for me, honestly,
02:26the story was so nice, the character was so strong,
02:29layered that as an actor,
02:31I got a lot of variations to play in the character.
02:33There were a lot of complex emotions.
02:35And as actors, you yearn for such characters, such storylines.
02:38And yeah, I just thought it was the perfect project.
02:42I wanted to work with Ratna ma'am for a long time.
02:46I saw her first film in the preview theatre,
02:49I just wanted to work with her.
02:51I felt like there is something...
02:52Her films are very desi, very rooted,
02:54the songs are very good,
02:56the characters are beautiful.
02:57So I really wanted to work with her.
02:59And then I just got lucky that I got such a good character,
03:02which has so many shades.
03:05And then I got to meet these wonderful people also.
03:09When you make a film, you are dependent on a lot of things,
03:13like how the story is going to be,
03:15how the characters are going to be,
03:17who is the director, who are the co-actors,
03:19where is the shoot being done, what is going on.
03:21In this film, all the checkboxes were ticking.
03:27Like Akshay also said, Ratna ma'am is a fantastic director.
03:31I have seen her work before.
03:33And she was one of the directors that I wanted to work with.
03:35Then when the narration happened,
03:37I heard the story and I really liked the story.
03:39I also liked the character.
03:40I knew Akshay from before,
03:42I have seen his work and all.
03:44I met Ashnoor, I met these people.
03:46Everything was just sounding good.
03:48So I just watched this and made the film.
03:51And I enjoyed making the film.
03:58I guess it will be fun only if it is complicated.
04:00Only then will there be suspense.
04:04Complications.
04:07No, I mean, if you know what will happen after this,
04:10then nobody would really come and watch the movie.
04:12The trailer has to have suspense
04:14for the audiences to come and watch the entire film.
04:17So if you have got that suspense, that thrill,
04:20then it means the purpose of the trailer has been solved.
04:23Was the trailer complicated?
04:25She gave such a beautiful answer.
04:27What are you asking me?
04:29Did you like the trailer?
04:31So I think the trailer is a very good...
04:34The film in Sankshet,
04:36The trailer is a very good...
04:38The film in Sankshet is a very good trailer.
04:41Because it is very difficult to put so many emotions
04:44in a two-minute trailer.
04:46So hats off to Zee and Ratna ma'am for putting it.
04:49Because all these things are there in the film.
04:51There are a lot of twists in this film.
04:53Despite being a love story.
04:59It is a love triangle.
05:00I think what has happened is that
05:02recently such films have been made.
05:04I am saying that our industry is a bit of a mess.
05:07And it should be.
05:08Because there is a lot of risk in this industry.
05:10A lot of money is invested.
05:12A lot of people's careers are connected.
05:14So people are not very risk takers.
05:16They go based on what happened two months ago.
05:19And there is a remake of it.
05:21Or there are rehashes of it.
05:22That's why so many sequels are being made.
05:24And sequels that have no basis in the prequels.
05:27Or have no connection with the prequels.
05:34The simple, ordinary love story.
05:37We have left it somewhere.
05:39We have stopped making it.
05:44It also has an audience.
05:46And people are hungry for it.
05:47That such films are not made.
05:56It is very good.
05:57Today, more attention is given to visuals.
05:59Which actor has been selected.
06:01Attention is given to that.
06:03How the promotion has been done.
06:05Not at all on story and all those things.
06:08And as a culture, as a society.
06:11Indians are very emotional people.
06:13For us, emotions are daily.
06:15We call each other brother and sister.
06:17If you go anywhere, we call you aunt and uncle.
06:19So somewhere we have left our culture, I think.
06:22And slowly we started copying the West.
06:25Finally, we are coming back to the line.
06:27We are coming back to the status.
06:29That we are Indian people.
06:30Indian product should be made.
06:31And the audience is also investing in it.
