Tourists are disappointed by limited access to Notre Dame Cathedral

"It's an iconic Catholic site, it should be open to everyone," says Kim Ramos, who travelled from London to attend the reopening of Notre Dame to the public. Like him, many tourists have been blocked by the police at the cathedral's access bridges because they did not book their tickets online.

00:00We feel very disappointed. We're going home tomorrow and we were really hoping to see
00:14the church. And so now we will not get to. So we will go find something else to do, but
00:20we were really hoping to see it on the opening weekend. Yes, it seems like this was made
00:25a very private event for only certain people of very higher class statuses to go visit
00:30the cathedral. We came from London because of this event. We arrived yesterday, but maybe
00:38we did not do some research and we didn't know that it's a ticketed event. So we just
00:45came here expecting to see the church. But since we don't have any tickets, then yeah,
00:54we cannot enter. So it's quite disappointing. And we're leaving tomorrow as well. So this
00:58is a religious, iconic part of the Catholic church. I think it should be open for everyone.
01:09I know that there's a lot of people who would like to come in, but I think it should be
01:13really open as part of the daily culture of being a Catholic.
