00:32it's interesting that a film like that

00:34I think has different ways.

00:40We figure, watching a film

00:42sitting on your couch and tweeting

00:44about it does not connect us

00:46the same way as

00:48sharing the same air and

00:50this collected laugh or sigh

00:52or tear

00:54that reminds you that the world is

00:56bigger than yourself.

00:58It's quite profound and transcendent for me

01:00to be in the theatre with a group of people.

01:02And so to be acknowledged by this institution

01:04is incredibly meaningful

01:06because it reminds me of that experience.

01:10I find that I get

01:12quite restless when something

01:14feels too easy.

01:16I'm hungry

01:18to learn new skills,

01:20new trades,

01:22to meet new people, to travel

01:24to new parts of the world, to listen to new stories,

01:26to learn more about myself

01:28and learning more about others.

01:30I'm an incredibly curious person

01:32and so I'm hungry

01:34to like,

01:36I don't know, acknowledge

01:38and take in the world around me.

01:40Are you not?

01:42When you're working with an incredible

01:44filmmaker, usually you're also working

01:46with an incredible script.

01:48So you're trusting

01:50the visionary of the project

01:52that you're collaborating with.

01:54Their sensibility of tone

01:56and intellect

01:58and sensitivity.

02:00And so to me it really is one and the same.

02:02To be honoured

02:04by the American Cinematheque

02:06whose goal is the expansion

02:08and the

02:10constant awareness of the theatrical

02:12experience is really a wonderful

02:14humbling award.
