00:00Whimsical, magical, like Charlie. Can I get the golden ticket? I'm a mummy's boy anyway.
00:04Six of one thing, half a dozen of another. Six of one thing.
00:06Oh, I've got to read a question. My bad.
00:07Hi. Come on.
00:09How are you?
00:10I'm good.
00:11It's always good to see you.
00:12It's so good to see you. I feel like we're the OGs, aren't we?
00:14No, we've been in this game for a minute, but we show up as if it's our first time.
00:20Yeah.
00:20You alright there? You good?
00:21I'm good. I'm loving all the hair. It's got bigger. I love it.
00:24Yeah, you've just got to grow it out. When you've got it, you've got to just let it go, you know what I mean?
00:28Usually, it's the other way. You're trying to like, how can I... Just let it go. Let it go.
00:31How does it feel being hidden as a surprise today, Craig? That's quite exciting.
00:35Do you know what? I feel the surprise is the cat's out of the bag a little bit.
00:37But do you know what? It's always amazing to be a part of this celebration.
00:42I mean, Jingle Bells has always been huge anyway, and to be able to come out as a surprise guest,
00:47dropping those songs that no one really is expecting they're going to get tonight is going to be amazing.
00:51I mean, it's almost 25 years since my first album,
00:53so we're going to be dropping some of those little dimes in there too.
00:55I didn't know about the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory reference. I didn't know that's why...
01:00I was blown away by that.
01:02Oh, yeah. The whole kid running into the candy shop, for anyone who doesn't know,
01:07they ask the candy man, how does he do it? The candy man says, my dear boy, do you ask a fish how it swims?
01:11He says, no. He said, do you ask a bird how it flies? He says, no. He says, no, sirree, you don't.
01:15They do it because they were born to do it, and it just... That movie hit me so hard at that point,
01:20and I was just writing those sort of songs that were going to make the first sound I wanted to do,
01:24and then it became seminal, so...
01:26Oh, unbelievable. And what about this year? How's it been? Has it been whatever you want it to be?
01:31Because I know you're very spiritual. Have you set out to do what you wanted in a year's resolutions?
01:35Do you know what? Every day that I wake up in the morning and I take that first breath,
01:39I'm just really grateful to have my friends and my family being healthy.
01:43The rest is in a bonus, and I think once you start your days from there,
01:46it's like it gets back to being whimsical and magical, like Charlie, can I get the golden ticket?
01:51It's that. So yeah, everything's been great this year.
01:52And Christmas, is that kind of like a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory moment for you every year?
01:56Yeah. Going back and seeing my parents and spending quality time with them and just being able to
02:01allow myself to be the young kid that my mum always wants to see me as and just be that
02:07and let her have undivided attention is the best feeling that I can give as a son for my mum and my dad,
02:12so I'm looking forward to it.
02:13I want to see more of your mum on Instagram. I love seeing your mum on your gram.
02:16She's the best. I mean, I'm a mummy's boy anyway, but when you see the things that she did for me
02:21growing up, and as an adult, you start to see, wow, you really went above and beyond to give me
02:26everything that I ever asked for as a kid, so just making her smile and keeping her healthy
02:32and happy and joyful.
02:33Next album, Above and Beyond, for your mum. That's quite a nice name, isn't it?
02:35I like Above and Beyond. I don't know about for my mum. I don't know. We've got to keep...
02:39The swag of it might just be... Even my mum would say, I think we could sort of park the mum bar.
02:44Above and Beyond is cool.
02:46Also, time is now. I know you love that on your watch.
02:48Yeah, I do love it.
02:48I have a little Christmas question to ask you, but you've got to go in the sack first to get it.
02:51Okay.
02:52Have a little rummage around for the one candy cane that I've left in there for you.
02:55Jeez, what have you got in there? Is that literally one? Is that how it's going down?
03:00Have I been that bad this year? Is this the call that I get? Is that what you come to?
03:04You've got to read the question.
03:05Oh, I've got to read the question. My bad.
03:07Okay, if you could host a Christmas dinner with any three fictional characters...
03:11Okay, so I would go with Harry Potter. Why not? I would go for Willy Wonka, just to chop it up.
03:22Another fictional character... Wow! Weirdly enough, Brit Marling in the OA. Her character in the OA.
03:31It would be a wild, whimsical... How did that work?
03:34That's a Christmassy, chocolatey dream there, isn't it?
03:37It's crazy with a wand somehow in the mix.
03:40Unbelievable, and we love all your little videos on doing all the acoustics, but I do want Six of One Thing,
03:46and I'm not going to stop until I get it.
03:47Oh, do you know what? Say less. Genuinely, the fact that you're on it like that, you're actually having a slight
03:54premonition of something we might have already done. So, that's a big tune-up.
03:59Six of one thing, half a dozen of another six of one thing. I love it. I've got you.
04:02Oh, Craig, nice to meet you.
04:04You're a star.
04:05Remember my account again, please.
04:05Oh, it is the cold one. It's that. Okay, okay.
