00:00Creating with clay is magical, but one doesn't really need to have creative hands to do pottery.

00:16GNTV visited a pottery class in Dubai to check out how artworks can be molded out of clay.

00:22Pottery needs no background.

00:25It doesn't need to be creative.

00:26You don't need to be an artist.

00:28You just need to leave everything behind and just have fun.

00:33And you can remove your stress.

00:34It's a stress buster.

00:36It's therapeutic.

00:37You need no knowledge of clay, pottery, art, not so anything.

00:41It's a very interesting balance between learning the techniques and using your creativity.

01:23It's very simple things, and then you normally, I'm really going to start on the wheel, let's

01:28say, in the next two lessons or so.

01:30We start with hand-building techniques.

01:32So there are three hand-building techniques in pottery, slab, coil, and the pinch.

01:38And once I feel the student is aware of the techniques of hand, I take them on the wheel.

01:44Because the wheel is a little more complex technique, because the wheel has a mind of

01:49its own.

01:50With hand, you take your hand and you're making things with your hand, so you're the master

01:55of your hand.

01:56Well, I started thinking that pottery was mostly about the wheel, and doing, and pottering

02:00the wheel.

02:01And through Mubaraka's lessons learned, there's more, there's different techniques.

02:05I got better results quicker with these methods than the traditional wheel pottery.

02:11After they are introduced to various pottery methods and techniques, the students can work

02:15at their own pace and choose a technique they prefer.

02:19They're encouraged to finish, paint, and glaze their own pieces.
