Petro Gazz's Buitre breaks silence on 'dirty finger' controversy  After seven months of being silent, Petro Gazz’s Marianne Buitre shares to the Manila Times how she has overcome the backlash of getting caught on camera doing a middle finger in a crucial call in a game against Creamline. This stemmed from a heated discussion that ensued following a block touch call against Petro Gazz on an attack by Creamline's Alyssa Valdez during a previous edition of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference. Buitre was forced to take a mental health break after fans let out a barrage of comments on social media although she clarified that she was neither suspended nor sanctioned by the league. 00:00First time I'm going to address this, yung backlash nung nangyari sakin nung first conference this year.

00:07Medyo aminin ko na na-affectuhan ako dun, pero life goes on and we only learn from there and we only move forward from there.

00:21Tapos syempre parang ito na nakakabalik na ako, na-injure naman ako. So parang sakin lang, mas motivated and mas inspired ako to redeem myself.

00:40So ayun, work hard lang, magsipag lang araw-araw din kasi lahat naman nangyayari na may reason, hindi ko man nakikita yung reason now, ayun parang in the future magmimake sense din sakin kung bakit nangyayari ito sakin.

01:03Nag-stop ako nung last conference, nung reinforced conference. I was really ready na to, I thought I was ready to stop playing, pero ayun parang nung pinabalik ako ni Petrogas,

01:18nung nag-take kasi ako ng mental break, parang dun madami akong na-realize, madami akong napag-reflectan, ganyan. Pero syempre I was not in a good headspace din.

01:35Pero nung wala ako sa volleyball, parang ang laki nung nakikita ko. Parang ang daming nag-open up na opportunities, tapos parang siguro na nasa loob ako ng volleyball, ito lang ayon nakikita ko, tapos nung nasa labas ako ng volleyball, parang ang laki pala nang pwede kong galawan.

02:03Parang grateful ako na pinabalik ako, ready na ako mag-stop dapat, pero unexpectedly pinabalik ako ni Petrogas. Kasi just to be clear, di ako na-suspend, di ako nabigay na sanction. It's not true, end contract na talaga ako nun, di na ako nag-renew din, I took a mental break.

02:33Parang pinabalik ako ni Petrogas, parang masyado akong tinake for granted yung opportunities na binibigay sakin. So ayun lang, marami akong natutunan, and syempre hindi siya madali, pero marami akong natutunan nung wala ako sa volleyball.
