00:00Yeah, it was my first festival.
00:08I had never performed in front of so many people.
00:10In fact, on stage, I even said I'm seeing so many people, it's making me giggle.
00:16And it was really, I kind of turned my back around before the performance started.
00:22I turned around and suddenly there were thousands of people.
00:24So it was really exciting.
00:26And I had so much fun.
00:28I was just dancing on stage and enjoying myself.
00:36Great question.
00:38I think playing with a band is really, really fun.
00:41My band comprises of seven other people.
00:45So I have drums, percussion, bass, guitar, piano
00:50and saxophone and backing vocals and then me.
00:53So playing with a band requires a lot of coordination
00:56and arrangement techniques and things like that.
01:01Whereas I think when you're recording in the studio,
01:03it's more about fine tuning little, little things and being a lot more detailed.
01:08And playing with a band live is more about feel and gelling together.
01:18Yeah, definitely.
01:19I think doing Archies was a huge change for my career
01:23because it opened a lot of doors for me.
01:25So I'm very lucky that I got to perform as an actor
01:28for the first time in a film like that.
01:31And I think as a musician also, it kind of
01:35because I worked as a composer on the Archies, it made me feel like,
01:39maybe I can compose at this level as well.
01:43And yeah, I hope to write for a lot more films and act in them too.
01:48Yeah, I think the way to kind of go about balancing both is
01:54ride whatever wave is coming.
01:57So right now my music is doing really well.
01:59So I'm just following that wave.
02:00And as and when acting projects come, focus more on that.
02:03So it's about changing gears whenever you can and being a little flexible and adaptable.
02:18I wouldn't say I'm good at producing at all, actually.
02:22I think I'm much more of a writer, singer and piano player.
02:26I think it's always great to gain new skills.
02:29In fact, next year I plan on learning the drums
02:33and maybe getting a few more production skills under my belt.
02:37And I think it's always great to know how to do various things
02:40within your industry because you get a better perspective on the whole process.
02:45Plus, it makes it so that you don't need to rely on too many people, although
02:51collaborating is also one of the joys of being in the industry.
02:54So it's a it's kind of a balancing act between both.
03:01At the moment, it's somebody called Olivia Deen from the UK.
03:05In India, my gosh,
03:09maybe maybe Shankar Ehsaan Loi, since there's such legends in the scene.
03:13And I got to work with them once as well.
03:20I think the highlights of 2024
03:23were definitely playing Bandland.
03:26I also played a lovely show at NMACC for the first time.
03:30And for 2025, I'm really excited about my new album,
03:35Sea Creature on the Sofa, which comes out in two parts next year.
