00:00Innovation and Technology Transfer Summit Visayas 2024 was held in Cebu City.

00:06The aim of the event is to use government-funded projects for commercialization.

00:11Jesse Atienza of PTV Cebu will give you the details.

00:17Innovation and Technology Transfer Summit Visayas 2024 was held.

00:22This is a way for the Department of Science and Technology

00:26to benefit those in the business sector,

00:29led by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry,

00:32the various government-funded projects that will be studied.

00:37It can be adapted and given a technology licensing agreement.

00:42It's to match or to let those generators, technology generators,

00:51present what they have done.

00:54Also, what are the available technologies,

00:57and for the business sectors, the communities to know about it,

01:02so that we can use these technologies.

01:07There are a lot of entrepreneurs who may not know that there are

01:12researches already done, and with the help of the OSD,

01:16that they can work together and elevate more.

01:20So, we're glad that the OSD is extending your helping hand now,

01:27and we hope that our members will take up this opportunity.

01:31Aside from the creation of new research projects or technologies,

01:36there are also discourses on best practices and practical tech solutions

01:41brought by the students.

01:43The topics that is being presented here,

01:47I really like something that we can get a taste of.

01:51We want that the research that we're doing,

01:54it's not just going to be for paper alone or for submission alone.

01:59We want it to be helpful to the country,

02:02and to whatever innovation it can provide for other people.

02:07The DOST Region 7 launched the Advanced Manufacturing, or AMSEN,

02:13and the Innovation Hub, or I-Hub.

02:16Its mission is to strengthen regional development and industrial competitiveness.
