00:00Local governments of Ilocos Norte are spreading rumours after they reported the cases of African Swine Fever in some towns in the province.
00:09This is the news of Emma Guillermo.
00:14Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotok contacted the hog raisers
00:19to report to their local veterinary office if they noticed any symptoms of African Swine Fever in their pigs.
00:29This is after he confirmed that ASF reported cases of African Swine Fever in some towns of San Nicolas,
00:37Dingras, Piddig and cities of Lawag and Batac.
00:42We've really been trying to secure of course all of the farmers and if there's anyone affected
00:49we'll take care of them in terms of their livelihood.
00:56But just a reminder to all of our hog raisers, to the buyers, anyone involved in this industry, please take care of yourselves.
01:05The local governments of the affected towns have already started calling on the pigs that are within a 500 meter radius.
01:13Meanwhile, active surveillance is being done on those within a 500 to 3000 meter radius.
01:21The protocol there is that if a farm passes here, they will be the ones to harvest.
01:30They will be the ones to raise their animals.
01:37So we have a protocol there that we will monitor it 24x7 within 30 days.
01:48For the negative pigs here.
01:53Governor Mathew Marcos Manotoc also said that there will be contact tracing on the pigs
02:00to find out the other affected places so that it won't spread.
02:06From the Philippine Information Agency, Locos Norte, Emma Guillermo, Balitang Pabansa.
