00:25A woman has never won the award. She spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about how it felt
00:29when she received the nomination. Yeah, it felt insane. I was just, like,
00:34watching the stream, just, of course, you know, just to see what the results were,
00:40and because I worked on a lot of, like, different projects this year, so just,
00:43you know, being hopeful. And that category was, like, the second one, and my name came
00:48up first, so I just, like, got out of my seat and started jumping around and screaming.
00:55And, yeah, no, I couldn't believe it. I had to, like, check, like, a few times that that was my
01:00name, and then just my phone started, you know, blowing up. My team, my management, like,
01:05they FaceTimed me, my publisher, all my friends, family, like, it was just insane,
01:11insane. It took me, like, a while to really process it. I'm still, I feel like I'm still,
01:17like, processing it. It's insane. I'm so, so, so honored and, wow, still in shock.
01:23She also opened up about what it means to be only the ninth woman nominated for the award.
01:27You know, it's so powerful to see women, like, continue to move the needle,
01:34and I feel like I just, I'm just so honored to be nominated in this category, and I feel like I can,
01:42you know, I hope that I am, you know, an inspiration for other women, you know, to
01:50keep going, you know, to always, you know, study hard, show up prepared, and, you know,
02:01with confidence, do your thing, and keep doing your thing, and never stop dreaming,
02:07because, you know, it can happen to any one of us, and I'm just, yeah, I'm just so honored,
02:14and also all the women that were nominated before me, I mean, such an inspiration to see,
02:20again, those types of women just paving the way for, you know, people like me, you know,
02:26in this category, so, yeah, it's very humbling, and I feel like it's even when I saw that
02:35nomination, I thought to myself, I was like, it's way bigger than me. Alicia also spoke about her
02:41journey getting to this point in her career. It wasn't really an overnight thing, like, I've been
02:46working really hard for years and years, and, you know, oftentimes people don't, you know, really
02:51talk about the hard work that, you know, everyone puts in their craft, you know, but, like, it's
02:57been years and years and work, you know, so, for sure, this year was a good year. I definitely
03:05worked on a lot of music with incredible artists, and super, super thankful and grateful with
03:11everyone I worked with this year, yeah, so, I was like, maybe there's a chance, you know, that one
03:18of the projects get nominated, I hope, you know, and if not, it's all good, I'm really grateful,
03:24I do it for the love of music, and, you know, so, but, yeah, it's just, like, crazy. For much more
