00:00All right, so the University of Miami had a cakewalk of a season to get in.
00:08They barely won three or four games, they had to come back and win all of these.
00:12I live in South Florida, grew up going to Hurricanes games.
00:16I am a Gator though, I will say that through and through.
00:18They were up 21-0 on Syracuse, they lose 42-38.
00:22I'm seeing this resume building going on with my counterparts here in South Florida, thinking
00:28to myself, what are you guys talking about?
00:31They didn't even honestly deserve to be in this spot.
00:33Yes, they have the best quarterback or second best quarterback in the country, maybe the
00:37best offense.
00:38But how many games could they easily have lost?
00:41I understand, Bill, you can say that about a lot of teams in college football, but no
00:45more than the University of Miami, three or four losses they could have had.
00:49I got them out, man.
00:50I got them in a great bowl game in December, but I cannot see them putting them in the
00:55college football championship.
00:56I don't think they've earned it.
00:57Right.
00:58And with Alabama looming, that's going to be the argument tonight.
01:02Alabama has a much stronger strength of schedule.
01:05Alabama has better victories, whether it's Georgia or South Carolina or even Missouri.
01:10The cumulative winning percentage of Miami's opponents when you take out FCS, Florida A&M,
01:16is 66-66, not to mention those near losses you talked about.
01:21I do love Cam Ward, I do love the offense.
01:24And their losses aren't horrible.
01:26I mean, Georgia Tech and Syracuse do have a combined record of 16-8, but I don't think
01:32it's going to be enough to get in the playoff.
01:34They needed to be in the ACC championship game, and the fact that they're not is going
01:38to cost them.
