00:00Here we are in Settimo Milanese, in the so-called Milano 5, which is a campus.
00:06It is a campus that consists of a total of more or less 7 or 8 data centers.
00:13Then there is also Milano 2 in the center of Milan and there is Milano 3 in Basilio,
00:17and then we also have Genoa, which serves as a data center for the attack on submarines.
00:23So Milano 5 is part of this ecosystem in Milan that we have built
00:28for Italian and international interconnections,
00:32for customers, for telecommunications, for cloud providers,
00:37that from here, all of them connect to each other in Milan, in Italy,
00:43but also with all the digitalized realities at the European level and also at the global level.
00:50So all this reality, Milano 5, is part not only of an Italian reality,
00:56but of an international reality.
00:59So Lombardy in Milan, as a commercial hub, is already a very important reality.
01:09Within this, there is Milano 5 and Equinix, which allow to connect all this economic reality
01:16with all of Italy and with the global economy.
01:22So the customers here connect with each other,
01:26they connect at the European level, they connect at the international level.
01:30So the platform becomes a real important strategic platform
01:37for the whole economy, but also for everything that means digital.
01:42So we have Liquid Cooling, which we provide to all customers in Milano 5
01:47and also in other data centers,
01:49a new cooling technology available for each customer.
01:54Then we have District Heating, a program already launched, but not yet announced,
01:59for the future, on which we are working,
02:01to provide the remaining heat to the environment around the data center.
02:07And the third point is Fuel Cell, which is a new technology
02:12on which we have been working for years, in cooperation with the European Commission,
02:17which we will change, however, in terms of engineering,
02:20rather on a battery that will be available in about 60 megawatts.
02:25This is not yet announced, we are working on it.
02:27So today is a very important day, because we are looking for new technicians
02:33and new young people to integrate them into Equinix.
02:36So we present the world of Equinix and we also present new realities to these students.
02:43At the moment we have a fourth-year apprentice
02:46who follows a training here and also at school and we try to have it every year.
02:52In this context, in Ireland, in Switzerland, in Germany,
02:55we have been launching these programs for a long time
02:58and therefore we continue to invest in apprentices and training
03:02to ultimately give these young people the opportunity.
03:06So I repeat, today is a very important day for us.
03:09The Equinix platform proposes to customers to interconnect.
03:12What does it mean?
03:14At the basis of all this, there is an infrastructure called Fabric
03:19that allows customers to interconnect with each other within a datacenter,
03:25but also from a datacenter to another datacenter in Italy
03:29or from a datacenter in Italy to any part of the world.
03:33Between customers and customers, from customers to partners,
03:36but also, and this is the important thing, from customers to cloud.
03:40Therefore, customers within Equinix, thanks to the interconnection,
03:44which completely skips the Internet,
03:47so they are direct connections, can connect to the whole cloud world
03:51like Google, like Amazon, Oracle and so on.
03:56Therefore, the Equinix platform is an entire and true interconnection platform.
04:01Equinix is available in all five continents of the world.
04:05There are countries where we are not yet.
04:08Obviously, the idea is to be everywhere.
04:11The first thing is to increase the services we have within the datacenter
04:16to our customers.
04:18Services like Fabric, but also beyond Fabric products.
04:23Then, recently, for example, two weeks ago,
04:26we opened a datacenter in Johannesburg, South Africa,
04:29which opens the ecosystem of South Africa to the whole world of Equinix.
04:34Therefore, the expansion of datacenters in more parts of the world.
