00:16This child is 16 years old and we will hide her name as Princess.

00:21At an early age, she experienced the use of illegal drugs.

00:27Last year, when she was arrested,

00:30I have a problem because of my family. That's why I was involved in drugs.

00:35Her parents separated and her mother married another man.

00:40But in her mother's new husband,

00:43she will taste the bitter part of her life.

00:48She is always being shouted at and said painful words.

00:53I was being shouted at by my mother.

00:58She told me that we can't live without her and we can't go to school.

01:04That's why I decided to rebel.

01:07She is one of the children visited by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

01:12The President visited Marriott Hills at the Haven National Center for Women in Muntinlupa.

01:18These are the homes of young women who experienced abuse

01:24and some of them committed adultery at their young age.

01:29I am a senator and a civilian.

01:33I come here because I always smile when I come here.

01:38She gave Christmas gifts

01:40so that the children's sadness can be alleviated.

01:46When I came here today, I really felt Christmas.

01:49I can see it on your faces.

01:54When the President arrived, the children danced and sang.

01:59Marriott Hills was built during the time of the President,

02:03former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

02:06This is a project of his mother,

02:08former First Lady Imelda Brumualdez Marcos.

02:11We are happy when the President looks at the poor,

02:19especially the children who are abandoned.

02:23It means that he is a good person, right?

02:25The President started visiting the area in 2017.

02:29Every year, aside from the pandemic,

02:31he gives gifts to the children.

02:34In his message, the President reminded

02:37that Christmas continues despite the trials we are going through.

02:42Even if we are hit by a typhoon,

02:46even if we are burned in different places,

02:51no matter what, we all believe

02:55that all Filipinos, especially the children,

03:02should be able to feel Christmas.

03:06No one can stop the Filipino Christmas

03:10and there will be no defeat in the Christmas of the Philippines.
