When huntsman and hounds are out of sight, blowing on the little horn keeps the foxhunter informed as to the progress of the hut.

Nottingham hunt sabs filmed the amusing interaction between a saboteur and a hunter on his horse attempting to blow his horn in the Owthorpe area of Nottinghamshire in October this year.
