00:00Two weather systems are affecting the country, particularly the shear line that is flooding some places in Luzon and Visayas.
00:10What is it and how long will it last? Let's find out with the weather specialist, Veronica Torres.
00:18Good afternoon to all of you and to our viewers on PTV4.
00:23Currently, this shear line is affecting southern Luzon.
00:27The cold wind coming from the northeast and the hot wind coming from Silangan, the area of convergence, that is the shear line.
00:35This is also the one that is bringing heavy rain and strong winds and isolated thunderstorms.
00:42In Metro Manila, there are Maropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan.
00:51The northeast monsoon is also affecting most of Luzon.
00:54This is the one that is bringing heavy rain and strong winds to most of Cagayan Valley and Cortillera Administrative Region.
01:02The best time for most of the country, including Ilocos Region and most of Central Luzon, is for isolated rain.
01:11That is what we expect and for most of the country, localized thunderstorms are possible.
01:21We do not have a high gain warning for any country, but we still need to be careful about the spread in the eastern part of Luzon because it will be very close to the sea level.
01:39This shear line is still possible to affect us in the next few days, although in southern Luzon, we expect the weather to be good.
01:50And in the next few days, the areas that are possible to be affected by this shear line are possible to rise and more on in the northern Luzon area and central Luzon area.
02:00We also have an updated weather advisory as of 11 a.m. where heavy to intense rains caused by shear line possible in Quezon and moderate to heavy rains in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.
02:16Now in December, it is possible for one or two storms to form or enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:23We do not monitor for LTA or storms inside or outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:29This is the update for our dams.
02:46This is the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa, Veronica Torres.
02:52Thank you very much Pagasa Weather Specialist, Veronica Torres.
