00:00Full-time here at Anfield, the quiet after the storm, a storming Liverpool
00:05performance. They go 11 points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League
00:10title race after a 2-0 win. Here at Anfield, Liverpool were dominant from the
00:17outset, fully deserved three points, as I say, Liverpool now at 11 points clear of
00:22the current champions Manchester City, the team who've won the title for the
00:27past four seasons, nine points clear of the nearest rivals Arsenal. After just
00:3213 games, the slot machine keeps on rolling. As a banner in the Kop reads
00:38before games and Liverpool fans who were buddying that Liverpool could go on
00:46the decline after Jürgen Klopp to pass his manager, well any fears that I'd be in a
00:51laze, any opposition fans who thought that Liverpool might capitulate, they'll
00:57be real and because it's been quite the opposite, Liverpool have been on an upward
01:00trajectory since Arnold Slott took charge and what a week, a 2-0 win over
01:05Real Madrid, the current Champions League holders, was followed up by another
01:10massive performance, another deserved victory against Manchester City. As I say,
01:14Liverpool were dominant from the first moment against Manchester
01:20City. They went close on a couple of occasions, Virgil van Dijk crashing ahead
01:25against the post but the opener came in the 12th minute through Cosi Gakpo,
01:29a big call to start Gakpo ahead of Darwin Nunes and Luis Diaz featuring as the
01:34centre-forward but it paid off from Arnold Slott.
01:38Chente Alexandre-Arnold played an exquisite ball out to the right to
01:42Mo Salah. Mo Salah found himself a little bit of space, got his head up, picked out
01:48the run of Cosi Gakpo at the back post and he kept his composure to finish.
01:52Liverpool continued on the front foot, Virgil van Dijk had another header saved,
01:56a couple of efforts from Sir Boz Light, Chente Alexandre-Arnold haven't won. I think it
02:01took Manchester City until 39 minutes to have their first efforts on goals from
02:06Rico Luis when he poked wide. Apart from that, they barely threatened Liverpool's
02:12goals, Liverpool were dominant. Second half, of course City come out and you expect
02:16them to have a little bit of a game, they are missing players but they have got a
02:19lot of quality. Again, they didn't really threaten Liverpool's goal, I can't
02:24remember Kovin Keleher making a save. Liverpool started to get on the front
02:29foot again when they made changes and Mo Salah missed a massive chance
02:34when City were caught out at the back and he went through one-on-one,
02:38beat the goalkeeper Stefan Ortega but his effort went over the bar and at that
02:44moment you thought, are Liverpool going to rue that miss, is City going to get back
02:48into it because their substitutes started to make a little bit of a
02:52difference but big moments when again Liverpool caused City a mistake in
02:59their back line and Luis Diaz burst forward, tried to get onto the loose
03:04ball and he was brought down by the on-rushing goalkeeper Stefan Ortega,
03:07penalty awards and Mo Salah of course missed a spot kick against Real Madrid
03:12in the Champions League, this time made no mistake. Ortega guessed the right way
03:17but Salah showed all of his composure to nestle it into the bottom corner,
03:22that was it really, I mean Liverpool nearly gifted Man City away into the
03:27game, Virgil van Dijk who was exceptional, bar one moment when when he gifted the
03:32ball to Kevin De Bruyne but sometimes you need players to bail you out and
03:35that's what Kovin Keleher did, another big save from the Republic of Ireland
03:40international to keep out De Bruyne and from there Liverpool could have maybe
03:46had a third, they had a couple of efforts on goal but it was comfortable, I say who
03:52could have expected this, first of December Liverpool top by 9 points, 11
03:57points clear of Manchester City, it might be Arsenal the nearest rivals this
04:01season, Chelsea also, looking very threatening but you have to say 26 games,
04:0725 games to go, the Premier League is Liverpool's to lose at the
04:13minute, they've got a massive gap on all of the rivals, dare I say there might be
04:21a hiccup at some points, yes there might be but we like to think Liverpool have got
04:24enough points in the bag to not slip up too much but they just need to
04:30keep players fist, that's what Arnold Slott said in his post-match
04:33press conference, that's gonna be important now because we're gonna be
04:36without Ibrahim Kanata and Conor Bradley for a few weeks because of their
04:38injuries, he picks up these Real Madrid's, of course they've been out without
04:42Alisson Becker, Diogo Dios for a while now, that will be the biggest thing I
04:49think for Liverpool to keep the players fist and if they can then who knows what
04:52could happen, great night here at Anfield, it ended Liverpool 2-1, Man City 0.
