00:00In Cagayan de Oro City, the DOST hosted the National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week this year.

00:06It aims to create opportunities for more places to benefit from science.

00:18Opportunities will spread to more places.

00:21This is the line of the Department of Science and Technology

00:24in hosting the National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week in various places in the country.

00:29This year, it was brought to Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao.

00:33According to Secretary Renato Solidong Jr.,

00:35the city of Cagayan de Oro will benefit from this and will become a neighbor of other places.

00:40Now we can involve partnerships with the local government in hosting.

00:45So we need to expose the local government about science, technology, and innovation.

00:51And that's the big plus.

00:53Second, our scientific community partners will also be more happy

00:58because now they get more exposure.

01:00We got to showcase more of their innovation rather than those in Manila.

01:04According to Solidong, the theme of the program is available resources, skills, and priorities of a place.

01:10He will also be able to help the exhibit to attract young people about science.

01:16As an offshoot of this effort to really popularize science and entrepreneurship,

01:23we are establishing innovation hubs for all the provincial and regional offices.

01:29This is designed for all, right?

01:31And the innovation hub is a small space within the office

01:36where one can actually go, talk to our scientists and engineers if they have ideas.

01:41Even if it's a small idea, it can be listened to, researched, commercialized, or promoted.

01:48At present, there are already 20 in different parts of the country since its inception last month.

01:54At the same time, there will be a grassroots innovation for inclusive development

01:58to show that science is for all.
