00:00Cold and frosty for the final few days of autumn before turning unsettled as we head
00:06into meteorological winter. A cold and frosty start to the day then on Thursday with early
00:11patches of mist and fog which may be slow to lift and clear, but once it does so there
00:15will then be plenty of dry and sunny weather around for the rest of the day. Winds though
00:20will strengthen across western areas and cloud cover will thicken bringing some outbreaks
00:24of patchy rain to Northern Ireland and Western Scotland by the end of the day. This rain
00:29will then push further eastwards across northern and western regions of the UK on Friday, also
00:34bringing some strengthening winds and a threat of gales for exposed coastal areas. Further
00:39east though it will remain dry with early mist and fog clearing a little bit quicker
00:43on Friday than it does on Thursday to reveal another mainly dry day with some sunny spells
00:48developing. That rain then will then clear eastwards on Friday night and into Saturday
00:52bringing a mainly dry but dull and grey day. There will be large areas of thick cloud cover
00:57and this may be thick enough to bring some outbreaks of patchy light rain and drizzle.
01:01A breezier and mild day for all with southwesterly winds. Now on Sunday this is the first day
01:07of meteorological winter, also the countdown to Christmas, but it does look set to be fairly
01:12unsettled. So heavy rain will push eastwards clearing to reveal scattered showers and it
01:18will be another breezy and mild day for all.
