00:00The 16-year-old gymnast from Pasig City won an award in 2024 Batang Pinoy Women's Artistic Gymnastics held in Intramuros, Manila.

00:16In the continuation of 2024 Batang Pinoy, gymnastics is a long-awaited sport
00:22because of the inspiration of 2024 Paris Olympics double gold medalist Carlos Yulo.
00:28In this year's edition, Hailey Garcia of Pasig City won 5 medals in the women's event
00:34from the individual all-around vault, bars, beam, and floor exercise.
00:40Yes, I'm having a hard time because my knee has been hurting for the past few weeks.
00:44I just want to finish my competitions and events properly and safely.
00:51I'm so happy because I just came back and there are a lot of adjustments.
00:56So, I'm really happy.
00:59More than 30 athletes from different regions of the country participated in 2024 Batang Pinoy
01:05where they joined together in the gap gymnasium in Intramuros.
01:10Because with artistic gymnastics, we have equipment as in beam, floor, and it's hard to travel.
01:16In Palawan, I don't think they have complete equipment up to standard.
01:21So, that's why for the safety of the gymnasts and for the quality of our competition,
01:26we decided to have it here in Metro Manila.
01:29Fulbing Sports Commission Chairman Richard Bachman also prioritized
01:33giving medals to every athlete who won in the event.
01:38According to the NSA, since Carlos Yulo won the Olympics,
01:42there are a lot of following and clubs emerging for gymnastics.
01:46So, the key here is to have a bigger pool for athletes for the NSA to choose
01:52and hopefully, most of them will become a national player in the future.
