00:00We quit our high-paying jobs to sell samosas.
00:11We eat any party or any gatherings without samosa, it's always incomplete.
00:15Apart from the typical traditional samosas, to kachoris, to whatever we sell,
00:20we manufacture everything on our own.
00:30I absolutely love my job, he also liked it, but there was always this thing in him that
00:40I'm not meant to do this, I'm meant to do something else, I'm meant to create my own firm.
00:53There was just a small khela shop just beside this SBI and he was selling crazy number of
00:58samosas there.
00:59That's how I started thinking that something big can be done with this particular snack.
01:10Just the same evening, he calls me and he tells me, I get a million dollar idea,
01:14I'm going to open samosa shops across every state bank of India.
01:18And I was like, I was actually dumb mute.
01:21That is why we took our own sweet time to contemplate, keep thinking, doing some research,
01:26validating that this idea is actually worth the risk.
01:36And when we decided to quit, no, no, when we decided to start, and when I told him that
01:41yes, I'm there with you, I realized he's gone to the office, the first one to reach office
01:46that day and put the designation.
01:48So that I don't even get a second chance to contemplate or think about it.
01:57What would people say?
01:59What would we tell them that you're no longer a scientist, you're now, you know,
02:04cooking samosas or selling samosas.
02:06It's not attractive to say.
02:08So eventually they gave us their blessings.
02:14We knew from the day that from scientists, we'll be called as Halwai.
02:18When we started, we started doing well.
02:20And within two, three years of business, we really reached to a level where because the
02:24first major challenge for us as a startup was to get big clients on board.
02:44It was something which came from our heart.
02:46And it was a very spontaneous decision just because we were too sure that, you know,
02:51of doing this and getting into it.
02:54So our entire business, which was more than 95% of our business that we were getting,
03:01was from these multiplexes and the airlines.
03:04And it was completely, completely shut.
03:10We immediately pivoted.
03:12We started working on our B2C channels.
03:14We opened our cloud kitchens.
03:16We started doing the online deliveries.
03:19We moved from zero, I mean, zero business to a business of, you know,
03:25a multi-crore business, I can say.
03:37We'll be expanding to about 200 locations in the next one year.
