00:00What if I am as little as people think of me?
00:06Everything in my life, someone has taunted me about saying,
00:09it's not you, it's not you they like, it's not you they value, it's your parents.
00:15I mean, that's one argument for nepotism then.
00:30First, you're Jhanvi Kapoor, okay, and the world's eyes are on you right now.
00:58But at the same time, parallelly, you're still this humble, nice,
01:04pavam, slightly underconfident, pavam, oh, severely underconfident.
01:08Yeah, that's there.
01:09Like, why is it difficult for you to think that you're an attractive lady?
01:14I don't know.
01:15What's weird about it?
01:16Like, why don't you just embrace it?
01:19Because I think that, and I've said this many times before,
01:22but I think that from a very young age,
01:28there have been versions of this nepotism debate that have made their way into my life.
01:32How old were you when you first started figures?
01:35Since school, since as long as I can remember.
01:39Small remarks like, you know why you did well on that test?
01:42It's because your parents are famous.
01:44And like, the teacher starstruck.
01:46Or like, oh, you only like, this person's only friends with you because like,
01:51like they think you're cool because you're famous.
01:52So everything in my life, someone has taunted me about saying it's not you.
01:57It's not you they like.
01:58It's not you they value.
02:00It's your parents.
02:01So I think it kind of like diminishes or makes you question what you have to offer in this world.
02:08Homie, as a complete outsider to your industry,
02:11it is partially true that that's how the world works.
02:14People talk to you and are nice to you based on who you are and where you come from.
02:18Yeah.
02:18But did you realize that?
02:20Could you separate the reals from the not reals?
02:24I think, see, I need to admit to myself that there is some amount of truth
02:31in what all of these people are saying.
02:34And I would rather be underconfident than be delusional to like,
02:41all of this attention and everything I'm getting and I'm on beer biceps and all
02:45only on my own merit.
02:46That's delusional.
02:47And I'd rather be underconfident about it than arrogant in what I have in life.
02:53So it's okay.
02:54Like I'll deal with some of those feeling like down and out kind of days.
02:59But I'd rather have that than be...
03:01Because I think when you're arrogant about it,
03:03you get complacent in your art and you stagnate in your growth as a person.
03:11And that's what I would hate.
03:12I strongly believe art is a little bit genetic, at least.
03:16I think there is a part of it that comes from your parents.
03:19And I say that because we've had some evolutionary psychologists on the show.
03:23We had some doctors who've been studying like DNA sequencing, all that.
03:27So what I've understood is that there's the nucleus.
03:30There's also something called a mitochondria inside the cell.
03:33Yes.
03:33Was that the cell wall?
03:34No, no.
03:34The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, which is the energy.
03:39Okay.
03:39Okay.
03:40Now, parallelly, there's something called paternal lineage and maternal lineage.
03:46I'm not too sure about what paternal lineage carries,
03:49but maternal lineage is the mitochondria.
03:53So every woman can trace back her mitochondria to her mom
03:57and her mom and her mom and her mom.
03:59And this is like proven.
04:01Yeah, it's like a real thing.
04:02So your energy levels, who you are, how you look at life
04:06and how you look at action.
04:07Passed down genetically.
04:08From your mom's side.
04:09And even for guys, they get it from their mom's side.
04:12You come from like an artistic family.
04:14That's why internally you are driven about probably the world of cinema,
04:18probably the world of art, probably the world of films.
04:22I guess so.
04:23I mean, that's one argument for nepotism then.
04:27It's a scientific one.
04:28Like, what do you do?
04:30It's in my mitochondria.
04:32What's your biggest insecurity?
04:34For me, I think, what if it's probably,
04:39what if I am as little as people think of me?
04:46I am as limited as they would imagine me to be.
04:50What if?
04:51Do you believe that you aren't?
04:54Yeah, but then I have my days where I'm like,
04:56but what if they're right?
04:59Like, what if I don't have much to offer?
05:03Are you very aware of the criticism that your brand gets?
05:06I was, but I think now I'm more aware of what I have to offer
05:11than I am of the criticism.
