00:11are pleading for a lawsuit or appropriate charges.

00:14Thus, the Philippine National Police sees absolutely no reason why cases shouldn't be filed against the Vice President

00:21on her latest rant over the weekend as PTB's Ryan Leziguez tells us more.

00:26The Philippine National Police is investigating what cases can be filed against Vice President Sara Duterte

00:32following her open threats against the lives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos,

00:38and House Speaker Martin Rumualdez.

00:40The PNP describes the situation as a matter of the highest level of urgency.

00:44Definitely, these words, if uttered by one particular person to another person,

00:50definitely there are some applicable and relevant laws applicable that can be applied to this particular case

00:57regardless of who said it, regardless of who is the target of these words.

01:03But then again, we are just being careful to give the specific as to the possible cases to be filed

01:10against those people who were involved in the incident last Saturday.

01:14PNP Chief Police General Romel Francisco Marbil has also instructed the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group

01:20to investigate Duterte's alleged threats.

01:22The CIDG is coordinating with the Presidential Security Command as part of the investigation.

01:27The investigation centers on whether a hitman was indeed hired by the Vice President

01:32or if her statements were purely hypothetical or figurative.

01:36We will make chronological events of this. We will make the complete records of this.

01:41And then after that, we will analyze and discuss these facts of the case

01:46vis-a-vis the possible laws that will come into play.

01:50Will it be obstruction of justice? Will it be direct assault? Will it be the other penal laws?

01:55While the CIDG leads the investigation, other police units will also assist.

01:59That is really the aim of the PNP.

02:04Because those are the specifics. So we are at that level. That is what we will reach.

02:09Is it true that there was a hitman? Is it true that maybe there was no hitman?

02:13Or maybe that was a figurative speech?

02:17So that is what we will look at.

02:20And we will be including all of those and considering those in our investigation.

02:25The National Security Council has also responded to Duterte's threat,

02:29calling them a national security concern.

02:31The Presidential Security Command has elevated its security protocols

02:34following Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin's directive.

02:37The PSC states that it is now on heightened alert.

02:41The PSC is working with law enforcement agencies to identify, prevent,

02:45and neutralize any threats to the President and his family.

02:49The PSC emphasized that any threat against the President and First Family

02:53will not be taken lightly and is considered a national security issue.

02:57The Palace will also not disregard the Vice President's statements

03:01about hiring an assassin to kill President Marcos should anything happen to her.

03:05The Presidential Communication Office confirms that Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin

03:10has referred the matter to the Presidential Security Command or PSC for appropriate action.

03:15Any threat to the President's life, particularly one openly made,

03:19must be taken seriously. The PCOs trust.
