00:00What is up everyone? Today we're here at the Nothing Phone 2A launch event.
00:05Good afternoon and welcome to our first in-person keynote.
00:10Thank you everyone for coming. We have some really cool stuff to announce today.
00:30You guys usually see me knock on doors to get an interview, but this time it's going to be a little different.
00:42I get to have a one-on-one chat with one of the co-founders of Nothing.
00:50So you are called Akiz Bhai, yes?
00:52Akiz Bhai.
00:53Can you tell us the origin story of how that came to be?
00:56I've been coming to India for quite a few years now and Bhai was like, you know, how we talk with people at the office.
01:02It's a kind of inside joke as well with Karl. So we've been using this for quite a few years now.
01:08I think Karl just a few weeks ago tweeted, alright Bhai, and then the whole thing went nuts.
01:14What do you love most about India?
01:16First and foremost, the energy. Here the energy is real, man.
01:20People are super enthusiastic and all the time they have that drive.
01:25I think it's something that's quite refreshing and energizing.
01:28Ever since we launched Nothing, there has been a lot of support coming out from India.
01:33We have huge ambitions here. This is where we have one of our biggest teams.
01:37This is where we have our most supporters.
01:40So you guys recently just announced your collaboration with Perplexity AI.
01:45Which is why I've actually asked Perplexity to make a few questions for us.
01:50And I want to ask you those questions.
01:52If Phone 2A was a superhero, who would it be and why?
01:58Iron Man for sure.
02:00For sure, why for sure?
02:01For the high tech. Have you seen the product?
02:04We have a dual 50 megapixel camera.
02:07We have our Glyph interface.
02:09So you can customize different apps, notifications.
02:12And when your phone is on the table, you can quickly, with a quick glance,
02:15understand what's going on on your phone.
02:17Without the constant need to look at the screen.
02:19And last but not least, massive battery.
02:215000 mAh battery.
02:39If a person is an avid Apple user,
02:42if you were to tell them three things about your product that is,
02:49let's say, better or a hidden feature, what would you list?
02:53A lot of people say that nothing feels like Apple in the early days.
02:57You know, like with the truth-listening tech.
02:59You know, the iMac.
03:00Right.
03:01And quite design-led as well.
03:03You know, like in the early days, Apple was for kind of a very niche audience.
03:06Very kind of design-led audience.
03:08So I think, yeah, if anyone kind of misses the old Apple,
03:11I'd say, you know, nothing is the way forward, I guess.
03:14You guys have announced your brand ambassador, Ranveer Singh.
03:19Ranveer.
03:20Yes.
03:21My boy.
03:22How did that partnership come to be?
03:23I mean, it came quite naturally.
03:26And I think he, by himself, he's quite unique in the way he dressed.
03:29I see him as a, like, tastemaker as well, you know.
03:32Like, always, his drip is always on point.
03:34Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:35So, you know, it felt quite fresh.
03:37And I know the whole tagline around Phone 2A was partially unique.
03:41So, like, you know, are you guys looking for a Gen Z brand ambassador?
03:47You look fresh.
03:48I like the drip.
03:49Yeah, come on.
03:50You got it.
03:51You got it.
03:52You got it.
03:53I could definitely see it happening.
03:54Okay.
03:55His words, not mine.
04:06Off camera, actually, Akizbhai did say that he's promised me to give me a phone today.
04:12Yeah.
04:13Did I?
04:14That was off camera.
04:15When we spoke.
04:16So, I think we should, we can gift, we can do the gift exchange now.
04:21If you'd like to gift us a phone.
04:24Is that a plan or I'm not, I don't know.
04:30But we can make it happen.
04:31We can make it happen.
04:32Okay.
04:33We've got it on tape.
04:34I'm expecting a phone.
