00:00That's my roommate, Shingarika.
00:02Hey, Shrings, what's up?
00:03Hi.
00:04Are you done with your meditation?
00:05Yes.
00:06Will you have tea?
00:06Yes, of course.
00:13Hi, everyone.
00:13I'm Chetna Basin.
00:15I'm from Yamuna Nagar,
00:16which is a small town near Ambala.
00:18I'm pursuing my MBA from BITS School of Management,
00:21also known as BITSOM,
00:23and it's located in Pabai, Mumbai.
00:25Welcome to a day in my life.
00:27Usually, I start my day at around 7-7.30
00:30because first class is around 9 o'clock.
00:32I prefer to start my day with some meditation.
00:36That's my roommate, Shingarika.
00:38Hey, Shrings, what's up?
00:39Hi.
00:46So, I'm dressed for my first class of the day.
00:49I'm going to pack some active wear
00:51because we have a dance and music class today.
00:54Jaldi Chal.
00:56What's there in the lunch today?
00:58We have chicken biryani.
00:59You love that, right?
01:01It's our favourite, chicken biryani.
01:03But it's Navratri.
01:05Oh, God.
01:06And there's nothing like veg biryani.
01:09Of course.
01:12So, we've taken the shuttle to Hiranandani Knowledge Park.
01:15That's our campus.
01:17Our first class is about to start.
01:19The subject is Negotiation Analysis.
01:21The subject is Negotiation Analysis.
01:23So, it's basically teaching us all the strategies
01:26to negotiate with people in life.
01:32So, I had this interesting Negotiation Analysis class
01:35by Professor Abhijeet Widera,
01:37who's from Singapore Management University.
01:39This is something which I love about BITSOM.
01:41They have faculty from top B schools over the world
01:45such as Wharton, NYU Stern, Oxford University.
01:50So, now I'm going to head to the library
01:53to do some prep work for my summer internship.
01:55I've landed my internship at EY
01:58as part of the Business Consulting team.
02:00And it starts next month.
02:03And I'm really looking forward to this opportunity.
02:06So, guys, I'm damn hungry.
02:09I'm going to go and grab some lunch.
02:11We have a pretty cool cafeteria.
02:13And the food here is really good.
02:15How much would you rate this food?
02:16I think I would rate it 9 out of 10.
02:19This biryani is not a pull-up.
02:21It's actually a biryani.
02:22It's a swiss biryani I'm talking about.
02:23Now I'm heading to my next session.
02:25It's not a class.
02:27So, BITSOM, there's this interesting thing
02:29which is called Personal Development Program.
02:32And it helps you basically become a self-aware leader
02:36and identify your strengths and weaknesses better.
02:38So, the Personal Development Program
02:41is personalized and curated by our favorite
02:43Professor Neena Chatterjee.
02:45I have designed this plan
02:47where I get students to take stock of themselves
02:50through the use of a psychometric test,
02:53through the use of feedback that they get
02:55from about six to eight people in their lives.
02:59And through that, they are able to kind of
03:01identify their skills, competencies.
03:04The main objective that we are trying to achieve here
03:07is to create a self-aware student
03:11and also to create a habit of learning through life.
03:15Personally, I feel the fresh approach of teaching
03:18and learning taken at BITSOM
03:21actually prepares us for anything and everything
03:23in this constantly evolving world.
03:25As an MBA student, I feel the learning opportunities
03:28in the form of PDP can help us
03:30in both personal and professional growth.
03:32Now I have my WOW class.
03:34So, I'll quickly change to my active wear.
03:36So, what happens in BITSOM?
03:38There's a core course and a WOW course
03:40which runs parallelly.
03:41For WOW, which is basically winning at workplace,
03:44we have subjects such as compelling verbal,
03:46whole brain thinking, expression through dance and theatre,
03:49which is all the exciting stuff.
03:50Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
03:53Full shut up.
03:56A unique feature about BITSOM is its mentorship program.
04:01So, basically as part of this program,
04:04each one of us is assigned a mentor
04:06who is a skilled professional from the industry.
04:08My mentor is Mr. Manish Agarwal,
04:10who has vast experience leading infrastructure sectors
04:13at multiple advising firms.
04:15I think this conversation will be a great opportunity
04:19for me to seek guidance and understand
04:21how I can make most out of this internship.
04:26It's been a long day.
04:27So, I don't think I'll hit the gym today.
04:30Instead, I'll just play with my friends
04:31in the recreational area.
04:37I'm walking back to my dorm.
04:39And as you can see, the locality is just so beautiful.
04:43I'm back at one of my favourite places.
04:46That is my room.
04:47And now, I'm just going to freshen up.
04:50So, that's a typical day in my life.
04:52Overall, BITSOM is a great institute.
04:54Good vibes, good people and awesome faculty.
04:57So, I'm going to crash now.
04:59Bye.
