On his flight home to Gatwick, Conner witnessed a surreal view that will stay with him for years to come.

"We flew straight over the active volcano near Grindavik town," Conner told WooGlobe. "We were staying in Akranes and saw the volcano erupt at 11 pm. Then, our flight was the next day at 6 pm, and this is what we saw."

The breathtaking aerial footage showcases the erupting volcano in all its glory. The vast area covered by flowing lava highlights the intensity of the recent eruption.
