00:23a 22-year-old woman who died in Morality Police custody in September 2022.
00:28She was reportedly detained for not properly wearing a headscarf while in public.
00:33Following her death, protests erupted across the country and, in solidarity,
00:38many women refused to wear their hijabs. The head of Iran's police force also said legal action
00:44will be taken against those who refuse to follow the country's strict dress code,
00:49with dissenters being referred to the judicial system.
