00:00The University of Alabama is preparing for March Madness while its star player faces questions
00:04about his connection to a capital murder case. So what is the player's alleged involvement?
00:08Brute can explain in less than 60 seconds. Brandon Miller, a 20-year-old freshman and
00:12the team's star player, is being interviewed as a witness in a case concerning the death
00:16of Jameah Harris. Harris was murdered in January 2023 after alleged gunman Michael
00:21Davis shot and killed her. Authorities believe the murder weapon belonged to another Alabama
00:25basketball player, Darius Miles, who has since been kicked off the team and expelled from the
00:29school. Both Davis and Miles have been charged with capital murder. As for Miller, one police
00:33detective testified that he was the one who transported the murder weapon to the scene.
00:38Miller's attorneys, however, say he never handled the gun. Miller has been allowed to
00:41continue playing basketball and has not faced any disciplinary action from the school,
00:46nor has he been charged with any wrongdoing in the crime. The University of Alabama claims
00:50Miller is not a suspect and is cooperating as a witness. When asked about his involvement,
00:54Miller told reporters that the situation was really heartbreaking.
