Transcript
00:00Morgan Wallin announced that he's canceling his next six weeks of tour dates after doctors said
00:04he could permanently damage his voice. After taking 10 days of vocal rest,
00:09I performed three shows last weekend in Florida, and by the third one, I felt terrible.
00:16So I went in and got scoped yesterday, and they told me that I re-injured my vocal cords
00:21and that I have vocal fold trauma. Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks,
00:30so that's what I'm going to do. Last month, Wallin sparked outrage when he cancelled a
00:34Mississippi concert due to losing his voice just minutes before he was set to perform.
00:38Thank you, Morgan Wallin. I was a major fan, and I will never listen to your music again.
00:43We literally have to leave. This isn't the first time Wallin has upset fans. In 2021,
00:48he checked himself into rehab after a video of him yelling a racial slur surfaced. As a result,
00:53he was suspended from his record label, to which he has since been reinstated,
00:56and had several radio stations pull his music. His latest album is currently spending its ninth
01:00week atop the Billboard 200. They told me that if I do this the right way, that I'll get back to 100%,
01:08and they also said that if I don't listen and I keep singing, then I'll permanently damage my voice.
01:13So for the longevity of my career, this is just a choice I had to make.
