00:0424-year-old Nishila Alma was in her apartment's gym when she noticed someone at the door.
00:08Because she recognized the man from the apartment complex, she let him in.
00:12Moments later, however, the man approached Alma and attempted to grab her and get her to the ground.
00:16As soon as he was approaching me, I pushed him.
00:19I said, bro, what the F are you doing? Get away from me.
00:22Police have commended her for immediately reporting the incident to authorities.
00:26And within 24 hours of her reaching out, police arrested her attacker, Xavier Thomas-Jones.
00:31The 25-year-old now faces charges of sexual battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping.
00:36Now, Alma and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are sharing her story to encourage women
00:41in similar situations to report their attacks to the police.
