See how Cyclops sees through his visor

When it comes to X-Men, a constant meme on the internet is that Cyclops sees everything in red. But is this true? Over the years, many comics have shown that the mutant even knows how to differentiate colors, which indicates that he is far from just seeing red, but, at the end of the day, how Scott Summers' vision will be portrayed in the comics largely depends on the screenwriter.

In New X-Men #131, released in September 2002, Grant Morrison explored this issue through Emma Frost. In the story, she enters Cyclops' mind and sees through his eyes, seeing everything in shades of red. However, when using the visor or the special glasses created by Professor Xavier, the light is refracted and an interesting process takes place: Scott can see everything in shades of yellow.

Four years later, in 2006's Astonishing X-Men #14, screenwriter Joss Whedon returned to discussing Cyclops' vision, showing that the hero sees all colors — even if they are stained in shades of red. In practice, this means that he can even see and distinguish all spectrums of colors, but they will always have a little red.

This reinforces, therefore, that there is no definitive answer about how Cyclops sees the world, since the answer changes from screenwriter to screenwriter. However, there seems to be a consensus that, indeed, the shade of red is something predominant in Scott Summers' life.

If you follow me and comment on "CYCLOPE" I will answer an unpublished curiosity about the character for you.
