00:00French President Emmanuel Macron commemorated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of
00:07Strasbourg during World War II by attending multiple ceremonies on Saturday. The head
00:13of state attended a military ceremony at the Broglie Square in central Strasbourg, where
00:19the president reviewed troops, and bowing before a monument to General Philippe Leclerc,
00:25who led three French troops into the city on November 23, 1944. During the day, he also
00:33paid a visit to the Bruges Valley for a memorial tour, including the Natzweiler-Struthoff concentration
00:40camp near Strasbourg, the only concentration camp built by the Nazis in France. Macron
00:47then visited the Alsace-Moselle memorial in Chirmeck, calling for overlooked victims of
00:53World War II to be honored.
